Be part of it and shape your world.\nAbout the Role\nAs our Senior Mine Engineer reporting into the Superintendent - Short Term Planning, you will provide technical leadership across short-term mine planning, translating complex operational inputs into robust plans that support mine performance and maximise resource value. You will work closely with short-term planning, technical and operational teams to connect strategy with effective execution. This role is offered on a permanent basis working Monday to Friday at Huntly Mine Site.\nIn this role, you will:\nLead the development and delivery of robust rolling 2-week mine plans and 24hr mine plans/forecasts.\nValidate planning inputs, including block models, productivity assumptions and operational data.\nSupport achievement of the 12 month planning by reviewing daily and weekly fleet, productivity and mining assumptions.\nConnect ultra short term, short-term planning and operations to support aligned, practical mine outcomes.\nIdentify opportunities to strengthen planning processes, technical standards and continuous improvement.\nPromote safe working practices and ensure mine plans comply with relevant safety, technical and operating systems\nWhat’s on offer\nAttractive remuneration and variable bonus plan.\nEmployee growth and development opportunities.\n18 weeks Parental leave for primary caregivers.\nOne additional paid Alcoa Flexi Day.\nMy Alcoa Benefits program offering travel, lifestyle, health and wellbeing discounts.\nGenerous leave entitlements including a leisure a day off every 4-week period.\nSalary packaging for a novated car lease, employee share plan and superannuation options.\nWhat you can bring to the role\nA bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.\nProven experience in large-scale open-cut mining and mine engineering.\nStrong experience with mine scheduling software.\nAdvanced analytical, problem-solving and lateral-thinking capability.\nThe ability to clearly communicate technical information and influence diverse stakeholders.\nDemonstrated technical leadership, ownership and commitment to continuous improvement.\nAdditional information\nInterviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.\nYou will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.\nBe part of shaping our organisation and join us in building a legacy of excellence for future generations.\nAbout the Location\nHuntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
