The role combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership and close collaboration across architecture, security, infrastructure, operations, and application teams.\nThe successful candidate will help drive modernization initiatives through cloud-native technologies, platform engineering practices, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps, GitOps, and automation.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPlatform Engineering\nDesign, build, and operate enterprise cloud and Kubernetes platform capabilities across AWS, Azure, hybrid, on-premises, and edge environments.\nTranslate architectural standards into reusable engineering patterns, automation, platform services, and operational capabilities.\nLead technical design and implementation activities for strategic platform initiatives.\nEstablish engineering best practices for platform development, deployment, lifecycle management, and operational support.\nMentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance across platform-related initiatives.\nKubernetes & Cloud-Native Platforms\nDesign and implement Kubernetes platform capabilities including:Cluster lifecycle management\nWorker node design and scaling\nNetworking and ingress\nStorage integration\nSecrets and certificate management\nPlatform observability\nBackup and recovery\nSecurity controls and policy enforcement\n\nSupport deployment patterns for:Engineering & Validation environments\nProduction Edge environments\nMES/SCADA-supporting platforms\nGPU-enabled workloads\n\nGuide Kubernetes version management, upgrade strategies, supportability, and operational readiness.\nInfrastructure as Code & Automation\nDevelop reusable infrastructure modules and deployment frameworks using Terraform and approved automation technologies.\nImplement GitOps deployment patterns using Argo CD, or approved alternatives.\nDrive automation-first approaches for provisioning, configuration management, upgrades, compliance validation, and operational support.\nBuild repeatable deployment patterns that reduce operational effort while improving consistency and quality.\nDevSecOps & Platform Reliability\nIntegrate security, compliance, and operational controls into platform delivery processes.\nImplement CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure, platform services, and Kubernetes lifecycle activities.\nSupport vulnerability management, policy enforcement, secrets management, and certificate management capabilities.\nDefine and improve platform reliability, availability, observability, backup, and recovery capabilities.\nQualification, Testing & Continuous Improvement\nDevelop automated validation and qualification frameworks for:Kubernetes releases\nInfrastructure profiles\nStorage integrations\nNetwork integrations\nSecurity controls\nPlatform services\nEdge deployments\nGPU-enabled configurations\n\nContribute to platform certification and supportability programs.\nSupport development of platform standards, support matrices, and operational runbooks.\nDrive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, measurement, and operational feedback.\nCollaboration & Technical Leadership\nPartner with architects, security teams, infrastructure teams, operations teams, and application teams to deliver platform capabilities.\nParticipate in architecture reviews and technology evaluations.\nHelp define engineering roadmaps and implementation plans.\nContribute to platform strategy through practical implementation experience and operational insights.\nKey Responsibilities/Minimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's or Master's Degree with 5+ years of total experience.\nExperience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure Engineering, or related technical disciplines.\nStrong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.\nHands-on experience with Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), OpenShift, RKE2, or equivalent enterprise Kubernetes platforms\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred), CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, Linux administration, Containers and container platforms, Cloud networking and security, Observability and monitoring solutions\nExperience implementing highly available, secure, and scalable platform solutions.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with AWS Control Tower, Landing Zones, Account Governance, and Cloud Security services.\nExperience with Argo CD, Helm, and modern Kubernetes platform tooling.\nExperience with JFrog Artifactory or enterprise artifact management solutions.\nExperience with Security Hub, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Audit Manager, Azure security services, and related governance tooling.\nExperience in manufacturing, edge computing, industrial, or distributed platform environments.\nExperience supporting disconnected or intermittently connected environments.\nExperience with GPU-enabled infrastructure and AI/ML platforms.\nExperience with platform qualification, testing, and release certification practices.\nStrong scripting and automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or similar technologies.\nRelevant cloud, DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes, or security certifications.\nMeasures of Success:\nSuccess in this role will be demonstrated by:\nDelivery of secure, reliable, and reusable platform capabilities.\nSuccessful
