In this role, a typical day will include:\nContinuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, tools, and development methodologies to drive innovation.\n\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications with a primary focus on backend services.\n\nDevelop and enhance Microservices, APIs, and application components using Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native technologies.\n\nDeliver high-quality software solutions that align with product roadmaps, business requirements, and architectural standards.\n\nDesign and implement integrations, data flows, and interconnected business processes across enterprise platforms.\n\nEnsure application reliability, security, maintainability, and operational excellence through testing, code reviews, and engineering best practices.\n\nCollaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver new features and platform enhancements.\n\nContribute to front-end development using React.js to create responsive and intuitive user experiences, with seamless integration to backend services.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues throughout the application lifecycle.\n\nParticipate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.\n\nMentor junior engineers and champion software engineering best practices.\n\nWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:\nBachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+13 yrs;Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)\n\nThe ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.\n\n5 Years of Relevant Experience\n\n5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade applications with strong expertise in backend engineering.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Microservices-based architectures.\n\nExperience building cloud-native solutions using AWS services and modern distributed system design principles.\n\nProficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.\n\nExperience developing modern web applications using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
