With customers across USA, Europe and Australia, we’re looking to rapidly scale our product offering and production capabilities.\nThe Production Engineer is responsible for applying advanced manufacturing and quality engineering techniques to control, analyse, and improve production processes in the production line . The role focuses on failure analysis, process capability, instrument calibration and test stability, and statistical process control, working cross-functionally with Final Test, NPI, Systems Engineering, R&D and Quality Engineering. to deliver robust, data-validated improvements in yield, quality, and throughput.\nThey will:\nDevelop a broad understanding of the Alcon products, their underlying technologies, and their application at Alcon.\nAssist in meeting any product-based objectives set by Engineering, Production, Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing.\nWork collaboratively across all disciplines to take products from development to mass production and general availability in the market.\nAnalyse new and existing engineering technologies and apply them in the testing of manufactured products.\nKey responsibilities include:\nProvide day-to-day engineering support for production, test and calibration issues.\nLead structured investigations into recurring failures and implement effective corrective actions.\nIdentify opportunities to improve quality, yield, throughput and production efficiency.\nAnalyse production capacity, bottlenecks and operational risks, and recommend practical actions.\nProactively identify and escalate issues affecting safety, quality, delivery or capacity.\nTake ownership of assigned issues and drive actions through implementation and effectiveness review.\nCoordinate with Production, Quality, NPI, Systems Engineering and R&D to resolve cross-functional issues.\nCommunicate production priorities, risks and required actions clearly during operational meetings.\nShare technical knowledge, support other team members and progressively take ownership of broader production engineering priorities.\nCandidate profile:\nGood working knowledge of SPC, MSA/GR&R, process capability and structured problem-solving.\nStrong hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.\nAble to work independently and drive actions to completion.\nProactive, accountable and comfortable making evidence-based recommendations.\nAble to influence stakeholders and support other team members.\nThinks beyond immediate problems and considers quality, delivery, capacity and longer-term risks.\nDemonstrates the potential and ambition to progress into broader technical and operational leadership.\n\nSkills & Experiences:\n· Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or similar).\n· At least 2 years’ experience supporting manufacturing or production in an engineering role.\n· Strong hands-on experience supporting production builds, testing or calibration.\n· Good working knowledge of SPC, MSA/GR&R, process capability and production data analysis.\n· Proven troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to implement sustainable solutions.\n· Experience improving production efficiency, yield, throughput or process stability.\n· Proactive and accountable, with the ability to identify risks and drive actions through to completion.\n· Able to communicate effectively, influence stakeholders and support other team members.\nWith Attributes:\nPays a high level of attention to detail.\nIs self-driven, reliable, and responsible; takes ownership of their work.\nCan plan and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.\nHas good oral and written communication skills; can collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
