We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.\nSummary of Position:\nAs a Senior Software Engineer C, C++, C#, hardware/software interfaces, you will be responsible for the development and documentation of complex software applications embedded in state-of-the-art ophthalmic surgical and medical devices. You will participate in all phases of the software lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, detailed design, implementation, and testing.\nThis role requires expertise in C, C++, C# development with .NET, strong knowledge of safety-critical systems, and compliance with medical device standards. In this position, you will also gain an in-depth understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the eye.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain C, C++, C# applications using .NET.\nEnsure compliance with IEC 62304 and FDA-regulated medical device software development processes.\nCollaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software.\nDesign, implement, and maintain automated unit tests and test automation frameworks.\nAuthor and maintain comprehensive software engineering documentation, including:Requirements specifications\nSoftware architecture documents\nDetailed design descriptions\nTest protocols and reports\n\nParticipate in code reviews, risk assessments, and design discussions to ensure safety and reliability.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.\nKey Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:\nUniversity Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years of work experience.\n5-10 years of professional experience developing safety-critical software in the medical device industry.\nStrong proficiency in C, C++, C#, .NET application development.\nHands-on Windows development experience.\nExperience with multi-threading and interprocess communication.\nFamiliarity with software architecture and object-oriented design patterns.\nExperience using Git for version control.\nExcellent written and verbal English communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdditional experience with QNX RTOS, Photon GUI and Microsoft technology stacks.\nAdditional experience in developing and optimizing software algorithms for galvo control systems.\nDevelopment of medical device software in an FDA-regulated environment including knowledge of IEC 62304 and medical device software lifecycle processes.\nFamiliarity with hardware design constraints as applied to software interfaces.\nCommunication experience using TCP/IP.\nStrong working knowledge of advanced design principles that facilitate maintainability, reuse, and clarity of design.\nDemonstrated ability to independently research technical issues and generate creative/innovative solutions.\nWork hours: 1 PM to 10 PM IST\nRelocation assistance: Yes\nEmployment Scams: Alcon is aware of employment scams which make false use of our company name or leader’s names to defraud job seekers.
