We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.\nAs a Sr. Associate, Production Planning supporting the Surgical Instrumentation Parts & Components team, you will be responsible for managing material planning, procurement activities, production schedules, and supply chain execution in support of Alcon's R&D operations. This role serves as a key liaison between suppliers, procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and research teams to ensure materials, components, and assemblies are available to support product development timelines and project milestones.\nThe successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, project management experience, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with global stakeholders in a dynamic and innovative environment.\nIn this role, a typical day will include:\nMaintain schedules for material requirements and material availability to support R&D production and development activities.\nCoordinate and monitor the flow of materials, components, and assemblies between suppliers, laboratories, manufacturing sites, and internal departments.\nCompile and analyze records regarding quantities, costs, inventory levels, and material utilization.\nReview material demand and supply plans to identify actual and potential shortages and implement mitigation strategies.\nCollaborate closely with R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support development projects and business priorities.\nUtilize knowledge of supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes to proactively identify risks and recommend corrective actions.\nManage direct material procurement activities and supplier performance.\nSupport prototype builds, product development initiatives, technology transfers, and innovation programs.\nMonitor production and fulfillment activities to ensure project milestones and committed delivery dates are achieved.\nReview master production schedules and demand signals to identify bottlenecks, shortages, and supply risks.\nDevelop and execute long-term supply chain strategies that support business growth and evolving R&D requirements.\nGenerate progress reports and communicate material status, project updates, shortages, substitutions, and schedule modifications to stakeholders.\nLead material expediting activities and coordinate resolution of supply chain disruptions.\nEnsure compliance with applicable GxP requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, process optimization, and supply chain excellence.\nLead and participate in cross-functional projects that support strategic R&D and Supply Chain objectives.\nWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:\nBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.\n2-3+ years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Production Planning, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Operations.\nPrevious experience supporting Research & Development (R&D), Engineering, New Product Development (NPD), or Manufacturing projects is highly desirable.\nDemonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.\nAdvanced SAP knowledge, including material planning, purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain processes.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, pivot tables, dashboards, and process improvement.\nProject Management experience, including leading and coordinating cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement projects.\nAdvanced English proficiency (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate effectively with global teams and suppliers.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving
