Dependable IP and transmission infrastructure is essential to keeping services available, protecting customer experience, allowing the network to scale and enabling cost-effective geographic expansion.\n\nPosition Details\n\n Job Title: Engineering Manager\n\n Location: Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria\n\n Employment Type: Full-time\n\n Reports To: Chief Technology & Information Officer\n\n Start Date: As soon as possible\n\n Team: IP Engineer(s), Transmission Engineer(s), Access Engineer(s)\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Network strategy and roadmap: Establish the IP and transmission strategy, target architecture, technology roadmap and investment priorities in line with subscriber growth, enterprise demand and geographic expansion.\n\n IP network architecture: Design and govern carrier-grade IP/MPLS infrastructure spanning the core, aggregation, edge and access layers, covering routing, switching, QoS, traffic engineering, IPv4/IPv6 and segmentation.\n\n Transmission architecture: Design and manage metro and long-haul optical networks, including DWDM, OTN and SDH where applicable, along with dark fibre, leased capacity and protected transmission paths.\n\n Internet, peering and interconnection: Oversee upstream transit, IX peering, private interconnection, content connectivity and carrier relationships in order to optimise cost, latency, resilience and customer experience.\n\n Capacity planning: Forecast IP traffic, backbone utilisation, wavelengths, ports and international bandwidth so that upgrades are delivered before congestion occurs.\n\n Network deployment: Supervise the design, procurement, staging, installation, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning and acceptance of IP and transmission
