So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.\nAbout the job\nAs an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the manufacture of pumps and valves for the hygienic fluid handling department. You will have the opportunity to work at the new Indianapolis manufacturing facility while, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. This position has multiple openings. Currently this is an on-site day shift role (6am - 2:30pm, with overtime as needed) at our Indianapolis, IN facility.\nAs a part of the team, you will:\nReceive daily work assignments from the Team Leader / Team Manager and execute production with Standard Operating Procedures and blueprints as a base.\nAssembles subcomponents and finished products and/or executes the material processing within the facility composed of a limited number of pieces that require basic levels of product and process knowledge\nLift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using lifts.\nPerform process setups and value add activities utilizing defined operating parameters, following all documentation to complete daily production demand within assigned team\nExecute quality checks and inspections as needed.\nReport any deviations (Safety, Quality, Parts, Equipment, etc.) to Status Boards immediately and update the Team Leader / Team Manager.\nObserves all company policies.\nBe active and engaged in the Daily Status Board Meetings by explaining the deviations and propose solutions.\nReview & suggest any improvements for the Standard Operating Procedures.\nLook into your own areas for waste (time, motion, transportation, inventories etc.) elimination opportunities and drive KAIZEN improvements.\nEngaged in daily & weekly 5S routines to achieve high 5S Standard and Sustain it.\nConstantly look for the cross-training opportunities within different manufacturing processes & better ways to add value. Cross train to support any and all departments or factory demands as needed.\nUse the downtime efficiently to learn the new processes & run improvements from the status board activities\nContinuously build job knowledge through execution of Standard Operating Procedures.\nAccurate & Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes, Gloves, Uniform others as required by the specific process)\nOther tasks may be assigned.\nWhat you know:\nYou have a high school diploma or GED and:\nExperience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment\nHow to use and care of basic production or assembly hand tools\nAbility to read drawings, blueprints, manufacturing orders, etc.\nBasic computer skills\nAbility to lift up to 60 pounds\nRead and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS)\nCrane & forklift certifications - preferred.\nAttention to detail and accuracy\nStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills\nAt Alfa Laval, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
