So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build careers too.\nAbout the job\nAlfa Laval UK and Ireland are currently recruiting for a Field Service Commissioning Engineer with a good level of both, electrical and mechanical skills, with a bias towards electrical. The focus will be on Decanters as well as other core equipment in the Alfa Laval product range.\nWorking on high speed rotating equipment providing field service support, trouble shooting and training at customer locations on the mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of Decanters ensuring reliable operation, optimum performance and efficiency. And we do it all in the spirit of equality and trust, where everyone has a contribution to make, proactively and confidently.\nYour duties will include:\nCommissioning, servicing and fault finding of new and existing equipment.\n\nPerforming I/O tests on control equipment.\n\nPerforming electrical and mechanical fault finding on our equipment.\n\nPerforming trial test runs when work is completed to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications.\n\nDocumenting the equipment serviced, parts used and travel/site hours to support customer invoicing.\n\nPerforming preventive mechanical maintenance service calls on customer equipment.\n\nAssist and train customer maintenance and supervisory personnel on how to operate our equipment and perform maintenance tasks.\n\nProviding process and technical support to the department and customers\n\nWorking with the sales team on equipment audits on customer sites to generate new business\n\nMeeting KPIs for the service team in areas such as submission of job reports and timesheets\n\nAbout you\nCandidates for this role should have completed a recognised apprenticeship, or have reached a minimum level of technical training i.e. City and Guilds/NVQ/BTEC/Degree.\n\nYou must be able to demonstrate a strong working background in mechanical and electrical\n\nmaintenance, ideally with separation equipment would be beneficial but not essential.\n\nYou should have a high level of competence with respect to, electronic equipment testing, fault finding, exposure to SCADA, PLC’s and an ability to read schematic diagrams is essential.\n\nDesirable skills include:\nWorked on automated production lines, generators, compressors, pumps. Exposure to Alfa Laval core equipment would be advantageous.\n\nPrevious industry backgrounds could include waste water, food and brewery, food processing plants, power stations, factory automation, marine or military.\n\nYou will be self-motivated, details orientated and numerate.\n\nYou must be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, good organisation and planning and enjoy working alone.\n\nCandidates must be able to spend several nights away from home as required.\n\nDue to the nature of the work, including the environment in which the work is often carried out, the candidate should have a good level of physical fitness.\n\nA full driving licence is also essential.\n\nThe role requires daily use of a laptop (provided by the company) and it is essential that you are PC literate and comfortable using these technologies.\n\nThe base area for the role is UK mainland with a willingness to travel across the UK as required.
