So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.\nAbout the job\nAs a Development Engineer in Alfa Laval’s pump group, you will contribute to the development, enhancement and maintenance of our centrifugal pump portfolio. The role focuses primarily on strengthening and improving existing products, ensuring that they continue to meet customer needs, support reliable delivery and remain competitive in the market.\nYou will work across the full product lifecycle, from identifying improvement opportunities and conducting hands-on testing to supporting product launches and solving technical challenges. As part of a global, cross-functional R&D organization, you will collaborate with colleagues across engineering, operations, technical support and other business functions.\nKey responsibilities\nDevelop, enhance and maintain the existing Alfa Laval centrifugal pump portfolio.\nDrive product improvement activities that strengthen competitiveness and customer satisfaction.\nPlan and conduct hands-on product testing in the Innovation Center.\nFurther develop testing methods and approaches for pump products.\nParticipate in projects from initial idea through development and product launch.\nSupport Global Technical Support with technical knowledge and product expertise.\nSupport global operations and contribute to supply chain-related projects.\nCollaborate with R&D colleagues and cross-functional teams across Alfa Laval.\nContribute to quality improvements and process development.\nWho are you\nYou are a self-driven and results-oriented engineer who takes ownership of your work and approaches challenges with both focus and analytical curiosity. You are comfortable working independently, while actively involving colleagues and sharing knowledge when solving complex problems. You enjoy combining technical analysis with hands-on engineering work and are motivated by contributing to solutions that create value for both customers and the business.\nWhat you know\nTo succeed in this role, you bring a strong mechanical engineering foundation, relevant experience from product development and a practical interest in design, testing and continuous improvement.\nMechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical education.\nAt least five years of relevant experience, preferably from an R&D or product development environment.\nExperience with hands-on product design and physical testing.\nStrong understanding of product construction, mechanical design and manufacturing methods.\nExperience with CAD and PLM systems, ideally Siemens NX and Teamcenter.\nFamiliarity with fluid dynamics.\nKnowledge of pump technologies or the hygienic industry is an advantage.\nFamiliarity with FEM and an interest in further developing your competence in this area.\nFluent written and spoken English.
