So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.\nAbout the job\nAs a Material Handler you will be responsible for managing inventory and material flow, including shipping/receiving, delivering materials to production teams, processing paperwork, loading/unloading freight, ensuring quality standards, performing cycle counts, updating system transactions, and stocking production areas.\nThis position is in Tulsa, Oklahoma and/or Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.\nActively participates in daily pre-shift briefings and weekly safety meetings to promote a culture of safety and awareness. \nCross trains in multiple areas to provide flexible support and enhance operational efficiency. \nAssists Team Lead and Team Manager with administrative and operational tasks, including coordination and reporting. \nPerforms daily duties as a material controller, ensuring accurate tracking, handling, and distribution of materials. \nFollow instructions carefully and seek clarification when needed to maintain high standards of performance. \nSupports onboarding and training of new employees, contributing to a knowledgeable and cohesive team. \nMaintains a clean and organized work area throughout the shift and ensures proper cleanup at shift end. \nSafely operates company vehicles with attached trailers to transport materials, equipment, or products as required. \nAll employees are expected to prioritize safety, regardless of role. This includes strict adherence to company-wide safety policies and procedures, proactive promotion of safe practices, and addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions in a constructive and positive manner. \nEmployees expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation toward colleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors. \nFull compliance with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures is required to maintain a respectful, safe, and productive work environment. \nReceiving\nUnpack deliveries, reject any damaged items, document shortages, and coordinate with vendors to resolve issues. \nCheck item counts, weights, and measurements against accompanying documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, or purchase orders. \nEnsure Material Test Reports (MTRs) are included when necessary and confirm that MTR numbers align with the received items. \nSafely move materials using a forklift or hand truck from loading areas to designated storage or work zones. \nPerform daily checks on the required equipment, including forklifts, cranes, and similar machinery. \nTroubleshoot discrepancies or problems with received items and escalate to Team Leaders or the Purchasing Department when needed. \nRoute deliveries to the correct warehouse or departmental locations. \nKeep detailed records of all materials and supplies received \nShipping\nApply shipping labels to packed cartons and mark crates or containers with identifying and handling instructions using stamps, stencils, or adhesives. \nPackage components according to specified quality standards to minimize damage risks during transit, especially for overseas or ocean-bound shipments. \nReview outgoing shipments to confirm they meet required specifications and are properly prepared for delivery \nWarehouse\nPerform regular counts to validate inventory and support accurate valuation, while identifying and disposing of slow-moving or obsolete items. \nAssemble custom fan and drive kits per order requirements, ensuring timely availability of components for production. \nDeliver necessary materials to appropriate workstations or locations efficiently and responsively. \nAddress internal department requests for material delivery promptly to maintain workflow continuity. \nAdditional Job Duties:\nOperate commercial delivery vehicles to transport various materials from offsite locations, CDL license preferred. \nUse large trailers (including 5th wheel configurations) to relocate oversized structures, side frames, and complete or partially assembled heat exchangers within facility grounds. \nWhat you know:\nYou have High school diploma or GED, required with relevant experience, and:\n2+ years of experience in Materials. \nBasic desk top computer skills required. \nBasic math skills required including the ability to read a tape measure and micrometer. \nPrior manufacturing experience preferred. \nForklift operation certification preferred. \nOverhead crane experience preferred. \nScissor Lift certification preferred. \nPhysical & Environmental Factors:\nStands or walks 80% of workday. \nRequired to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment. \nRegularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally: 30 lbs of force frequently \nLifting raw materials, assemblies, and equipment using lifts, or manually up to 50 lbs. \nMust wear PPE: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs \nExposure to outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, loud noise, and vibration \nWork near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals \nEncounter atmospheric conditions: fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation \nOperate in confined spaces such as narrow aisles or passageway \nPhysical Requirements:\nMobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces \nManual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength \nFine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks \nCommunication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening to convey and receive detailed instructions \nSensory Abilities: Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication in a work environment \nAt Alfa Laval, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
