We are looking for a Distribution Center Manager to lead our Saint John, New Brunswick distribution operations and drive performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.\nSalary Range: CAD $70,800 - $88,500 annually\nPlus eligibility for company benefits and incentive programs, where applicable.\nThe Distribution Center Manager (DCM) ensures the warehouse and yard operate at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction as the primary goal. This role is responsible for supervising, organizing, and developing warehouse employees while establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals. The DCM oversees all aspects of distribution center operations, including inventory management, logistics, safety, staffing, equipment utilization, and process improvement. By leading a high-performing team and maintaining a strong focus on safety, service, quality, and productivity, the Distribution Center Manager plays a critical role in supporting business objectives and delivering an exceptional customer experience.\nWhat You'll Do:\nOperations Leadership:\nOversee daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure service and quality standards are met.\nDevelop and implement operational processes that improve productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.\nManage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and system reconciliation.\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions and improvement initiatives.\nCoordinate building, facility, and equipment maintenance activities.\nEnsure compliance with all company policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.\nPeople Leadership:\nLead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse associates, leads, and supervisors.\nFoster a positive and collaborative workplace culture focused on safety, accountability, and customer service.\nConduct performance reviews, establish employee goals, and support career development.\nManage workforce scheduling and approve employee timecards.\nAddress employee relations matters through coaching, counseling, and performance management practices.\nHealth, Safety & Compliance:\nPromote a strong safety-first culture throughout the distribution center.\nEnsure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.\nSupport and maintain programs such as C-TPAT and other corporate compliance initiatives.\nDeliver and monitor employee training to ensure regulatory and operational requirements are met.\nFinancial & Business Management:\nDevelop and manage annual operating budgets.\nMonitor spending and analyze operational and financial performance.\nIdentify opportunities for cost savings, operational improvements, and loss prevention.\nPrepare reports and communicate operational results to leadership.\nStakeholder Collaboration:\nWork closely with Transportation, Procurement, Production, Customer Service, Human Resources, and other internal partners.\nMaintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, customers, and external stakeholders.\nResolve operational challenges while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and service.\nWhat You'll Bring:\nEducation & Experience:\nCollege diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n3-5 years of leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain environment.\nExperience leading teams in a unionized environment is considered an asset.\nAbility to successfully pass a C-TPAT background check.\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.\nExperience with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes.\nSAP and RF scanning experience are considered assets.\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.\nLeadership Competencies:\nStrong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.\nProven ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.\nExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong understanding of occupational health and safety requirements.\nDetail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence and customer service.\nWorking Conditions:\nCombination of office, warehouse, and yard environments.\nExposure to moving equipment, industrial vehicles, noise, and varying temperatures.\nFrequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the facility.\nOccasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.\nRequired use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, safety glasses, and high-visibility apparel.\nFlexibility to work extended hours as business needs require.\nWhy Join IPEX?\nAt IPEX, you'll have the opportunity to lead a critical operation that supports customers across North America.
