Key Responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards.\n\nEnsure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate EHS requirements.\n\nLiaise with government authorities, regulatory agencies, and auditors on safety-related matters.\n\nMaintain all statutory records, permits, licenses, and safety documentation.\n\nLead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) activities across all operations.\n\nConduct regular safety inspections, audits, and behavioral safety observations.\n\nIdentify unsafe conditions and practices and drive corrective and preventive actions.\n\nEnsure implementation of machine safety, electrical safety, chemical safety, and process safety requirements.\n\nLead investigations of incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.\n\nPerform root cause analysis and drive closure of corrective and preventive actions.\n\nAnalyze safety performance metrics and develop initiatives to improve safety outcomes.\n\nPromote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and leadership involvement.\n\nConduct safety awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and behavioral safety programs.\n\nFacilitate safety committees and cross-functional safety reviews.\n\nMentor and coach line managers on safety leadership and accountability.\n\nEstablish contractor safety management systems and ensure adherence to site requirements.\n\nReview and approve contractor risk assessments and work permits.\n\nMonitor safety performance during construction, maintenance, and expansion projects.\n\nEnsure compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems including hot work, confined space entry, work at height, and electrical isolation.\n\nDevelop and maintain site emergency response plans.\n\nConduct periodic mock drills for fire, chemical spills, medical emergencies, and disaster management.\n\nCoordinate with local emergency services and external stakeholders.\n\nDevelop annual safety training plans for employees and contractors.\n\nOrganize statutory and competency-based training programs.\n\nEnsure all employees receive necessary safety inductions and refresher training.\n\nCollaborate with EHS teams to support environmental and occupational health initiatives.\n\nEnsure integration of safety objectives with sustainability and operational excellence goals.\n\n Requirement\nBachelor's degree in engineering / science from a recognized institution.\n\nDegree/Diploma in Industrial Safety recognized by relevant statutory authorities.\n\nAdditional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, Lead Auditor (ISO 45001), or equivalent preferred.\n\n12-18 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety in manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, chemical, engineering, or related sectors.\n\nMinimum 5 years in a leadership role managing plant safety functions.\n\nProven experience in implementing safety management systems and statutory compliance.\n\nExperience in contractor safety, project safety, and emergency response management.\n\nStrong knowledge of Indian Factory Act, Karnataka Factories Rules, and applicable EHS regulations.\n\nExpertise in ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.\n\nIncident investigation and root cause analysis.\n\nRisk assessment and hazard management.\n\nLeadership and stakeholder management.\n\nChange management and behavioral safety implementation.\n\nStrong communication, influencing, and presentation skills.\n\nAnalytical and problem-solving
