We offer professionals opportunities to train in the leading technologies, make an impact within the industry and acquire valuable new skills whether on client sites or in one of our regional offices.\nThe Assistant Project Controller will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial management and accounting operations of a rapidly growing professional services organization focused on Data Center White Space fit out projects. This position will support the Controller in managing financial reporting, construction project accounting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, internal controls, and the financial performance of active projects. \nThe ideal candidate will possess strong construction accounting expertise, including job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, subcontractor billing management, retainage tracking, and project financial analysis. Experience utilizing Procore and Sage Intacct (or Sage Construction software) is required. \nThis individual will serve as a business partner to project management, operations, procurement, and executive leadership to ensure projects are financially controlled, accurately reported, and positioned for profitability. \nThis is a full-time salaried role offering $125,000-$150,000 (commensurate with experience) full benefits, project bonuses, paid travel, and advanced training.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinancial Management & Reporting \nAssist the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. \nPrepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages. \nEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. \nSupport external audits, tax filings, and lender reporting requirements. \nAssist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. \nConstruction Project Accounting \nOversee accounting activities for multiple active construction projects. \nManage project setup, cost coding, budget controls, and contract administration. \nMonitor and analyze: Job costs \nCommitments \nChange orders \nCost-to-complete forecasts \nWIP schedules \nProject profitability \n\nSupport percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and project closeout activities. \nReview subcontractor invoices, payment applications, lien waivers, retainage, and compliance documentation. \nEnsure accurate project cost tracking from project kickoff through final completion. \nProcore & Sage Administration \nServe as a financial subject matter expert for Procore and Sage Intacct. \nMaintain alignment between project management and accounting systems. \nMonitor data integrity between financial and operational systems. \nDevelop standardized reporting and dashboards for project financial performance. \nIdentify opportunities for automation and continuous process improvement. \nPartner with operational teams to improve project visibility and financial controls. \nBudgeting, Forecasting & Analysis \nAssist with annual budgeting and strategic planning processes. \nDevelop project cash flow forecasts and funding projections. \nPerform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts. \nAnalyze project performance trends and provide recommendations to improve profitability.\nSupport executive decision-making through financial modeling and ad hoc analysis. \nLeadership & Team Development \nAssist in supervising accounting staff and project accounting personnel. \nMentor junior team members and support professional development initiatives. \nFoster cross-functional collaboration between accounting, operations, project management, and executive leadership. \nPromote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. \nQualifications \nRequired \nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. \n5-8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience. \nMinimum 3 years of construction project accounting experience. \nStrong knowledge of: \nJob costing \nWIP reporting \nPercentage-of-completion accounting \nRevenue recognition \nRetainage accounting \nConstruction draw processes \nProject forecasting \nAdvanced experience with: \nProcore \nSage Intacct and/or Sage Construction Management \nMicrosoft Excel \nExperience supporting monthly close and financial statement preparation. \nStrong understanding of GAAP and internal controls. \nPreferred \nExperience working in a Public Accounting Firm. \nExperience supporting multi-location or multi-entity construction operations. \nExperience working with data center, mission critical, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. \nFamiliarity with lender draw packages and construction financing. \nExperience implementing financial systems, reporting tools, or process automation initiatives. \nTo support a fair, consistent, and high-quality hiring experience, some interviews may be recorded.
