We offer professionals opportunities to train in the leading technologies, make an impact within the industry and acquire valuable new skills whether on client sites or in one of our regional offices.\nPosition Overview\nAlign seeks an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate second-shift construction activities for a data center white space fit-out in the Detroit metropolitan area. This person will work closely with the Project Manager and daytime field team to oversee contractors, monitor installation progress, and keep work moving safely and on schedule.\nThe ideal candidate has previous construction field experience, communicates well with contractors and clients, and is comfortable taking ownership of onsite activities. This is an opportunity for an Assistant Superintendent, Foreman, Field Engineer, or experienced construction professional ready to take the next step in their career.\nPrevious data center construction experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with relevant electrical, mechanical, low-voltage, or industrial construction experience will also be considered based on their background and field leadership experience.\nThis position requires working onsite during the second shift, approximately 4pm to midnight\nThis is a full-time salaried position offering competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, paid training and performance-based bonuses \nResponsibilities\nServe as Align’s onsite field representative during the second shift, coordinating work with contractors, vendors, and client representatives\nReview daily priorities and planned activities with the Project Manager and daytime team to ensure a clear handoff between shifts\nCoordinate contractor activities and work sequencing, confirming crews have the access, materials, and information needed to complete assigned work\nWalk the jobsite to monitor installation progress and quality against project drawings, specifications, and client requirements\nSupport white space fit-out activities, including cabinets, containment, cable pathways, structured cabling, and associated electrical and mechanical installations\nReinforce site safety requirements, address unsafe conditions, and escalate concerns through the appropriate site procedures\nIdentify scheduling conflicts, material shortages, installation issues, and other obstacles; work with the project team to resolve them\nMaintain daily reports, progress photos, and field issue logs. Communicate potential scope changes and work requiring clarification to the Project Manager\nCoordinate punch-list work and support inspections, testing, and turnover activities as assigned\nProvide the daytime team with a clear update on completed work, outstanding issues, and next steps\nQualifications\nPrevious experience in construction field supervision or coordination, with responsibility for directing crews or coordinating subcontractors\nExperience in data center, construction, electrical, mechanical, low-voltage, industrial, or other critical facility experience will all be considered\nAbility to read construction drawings and understand installation requirements and work sequencing\nWorking knowledge of construction safety practices and the ability to recognize and address jobsite hazards\nStrong communication and organizational skills, with consistent follow-through on field issues and commitment\nAbility to make sound decisions within assigned responsibilities and recognize when to involve the Project Manager or senior field leadership\nComfortable using Microsoft Office and maintaining daily construction documentation. Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools is a plus.\nAbility to work onsite consistently during the required second-shift hours\nTo support a fair, consistent, and high-quality hiring experience, some interviews may be recorded.
