This role will focus on transforming legacy .NET Framework applications into modern, cloud-native solutions running on AWS. The ideal candidate combines deep .NET development expertise with experience modernizing large-scale applications, implementing cloud best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.\nAs a Senior .NET Modernization Engineer, you will play a key role in helping organizations accelerate digital transformation by refactoring legacy applications, improving scalability and maintainability, and preparing workloads for containerization and cloud-native deployment models.\nResponsibilities\nModernize enterprise applications from .NET Framework to .NET 8 and .NET Core\nAnalyze existing application architectures and develop modernization strategies\nRefactor legacy codebases to support cloud-native architectures and AWS best practices\nIdentify and remediate application dependencies, third-party libraries, and NuGet package compatibility issues\nMigrate legacy ASP.NET applications to modern frameworks and development patterns\nDevelop and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices architectures\nImplement application logging, monitoring, observability, and security controls\nCollaborate with DevOps engineers to integrate applications into CI/CD pipelines\nSupport containerization initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes platforms such as Amazon EKS\nPerform code reviews and mentor junior developers on modernization best practices\nTroubleshoot complex application issues and provide technical leadership throughout modernization efforts\nDevelop technical documentation, migration runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of software engineering experience with C# and .NET technologies\nStrong experience with both .NET Framework and .NET Core/.NET 8\nExperience modernizing or migrating legacy enterprise applications\nStrong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture patterns\nExperience developing REST APIs and service-oriented architectures\nExperience working with SQL Server and relational databases\nFamiliarity with source control systems such as Git\nExperience participating in Agile development environments\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with AWS cloud services\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes\nFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)\nExperience with CI/CD platforms and automated testing frameworks\nExperience modernizing applications within government, healthcare, or highly regulated environments\nKnowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures\nCertifications\nPreferred but not required:\nAWS Certified Developer - Associate\nAWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate\nAWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional\nWhy Join ATG?\nAt Aligned Technology Group, you'll work alongside cloud, data, AI, and modernization experts helping customers solve complex technical challenges.
