This role is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Alinea while actively participating in floor service alongside the team. The Floor Manager plays a hands-on role in the guest experience, regularly serving on the floor while providing leadership and support to the front-of-house team. This position is responsible for strategizing the development of FOH team members, collaborating with the General Manager, and training staff on service standards, steps of service, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Driven by the notion of doing the unexpected, guests can be assured to leave the dining room feeling inspired.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nWork 5 services per week at the General Manager’s discretion - may include working in a section based on business needs.\n\nLeads, alongside the GM and AGMs, a pre-service meeting to properly communicate to the service staff the special reservations, dietary restrictions, changes to food and beverage menu items, and expectations of the service ahead.\n\nAssists the GM and TAG HR Team with the recruiting, training, professional development, and discipline of FOH staff.\n\nWorks cohesively with the FOH teams to prepare for service, breakdown service, and run service properly.\n\nStrategizes operational efficiencies by:\nIdentifying opportunities for cross-training\n\nReviewing upcoming operational needs & planning for coverage (PTO, offsite events, etc.)\n\nLeads by example and communicates daily with chefs and service teams to build a collaborative atmosphere for FOH/BOH.\n\nStrictly adheres to alcohol serving regulations.\n\nSecondary Responsibilities\nAudits service areas for compliance with health department requirements of food and beverage safety and staff hygiene.\n\nDemonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.\n\nMaintains thorough understanding of industry and stays abreast of industry trends.\n\nReports any maintenance deficiencies immediately to appropriate personnel.\n\nTraditional floor management duties\n\nQualifications\nAbility to communicate in proper English both verbally and in legible writing.\n\nExpert spirits and cocktail training and knowledge.\n\nFood Handler & BASSET Certification.\n\nFive (5)+ years in FOH service in a fine dining atmosphere\n\nThree (3) years having been in a supervisory role.\n\nDesirable Qualifications\nAssociate’s degree in Hospitality or related subject matter\n\nCertification of previous training in liquor, wine, and/or food service.\n\nFluency in a foreign language.\n\nCertification in CPR.\n\nKnowledge of national and international restaurants/bars of similar award caliber, theme, and/or price point.\n\nRequirements\nMust be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours\n\nMust be able to move, pull, or lift at least 35 pounds\n\nMust be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift\n\nMust be able to exert 15-20lbs of pressure\n\nMust be able to use fine motor skills frequently\n\nExemplary organizational and cleaning standards.\n\nEffective multitasking and prioritization skills\n\nProduct utilization and optimization knowledge.\n\nExpert-level knowledge of dietary restriction protocols.\n\nInclusive communication skills.\n\nAbility to track and fulfill goals set by management.\n\nCourteous and cooperative conduct with public & staff.\n\nAbility to train and develop staff to achieve TAG goals.\n\nPrior formalized management training is desirable.\n\nBenefits\nExempt Salaried position, starting at $80,000 - $85,000/year\n\nMedical, vision, dental and life benefits available on the 1st month following full-time employment paid by the company 100% (restrictions apply)\n\nPaid time off\n\n401(K) with a company match of up to 4% of deferred earnings\n\nCTA/Ventra discount available after 1 month of full-time employment\n\nEmployee Dining Discount, 20% to any Alinea Group restaurant\n\nReferral Bonus Program available\n\nThe Alinea Group is an equal opportunity employer.
