The work is Assembler-centric and sits below the application layer (module-level changes, subsystem exits, and the diagnostics around them), working alongside the infrastructure, application and security teams. If you’re comfortable with vendor-supplied modules, module maps and dumps, then this role is for you.\n Your day-to-day\nWrite and maintain HLASM code that runs as part of the runtime and subsystem environment;\n\nBuild and package modules and analyze load modules;\n\nWork with access methods (VSAM, QSAM) and Language Environment at the control-block level;\n\nDevelop and install subsystem exits (CICS, Db2, IMS or MQ);\n\nUse JCL and REXX to automate build, install and verification steps;\n\nTroubleshoot dumps and abends, and demonstrate that a change is behavior-neutral before it ships.\n\n Keys to your success\n8+ years of hands-on z/OS experience, with significant time spent below the application layer;\n\nStrong HLASM skills (not substitutable by COBOL or PL/I experience);\n\nBinder and linkage-editor fluency;\n\nWorking knowledge of Language Environment internals, VSAM/QSAM control blocks, and the z/OS authorization model (APF, authorized concatenations);\n\nComfort with JCL and REXX;
