We are committed to connecting people to Medora through positive, life-changing experiences.\nSummary\nWe are seeking a skilled and personable Bartender/Mixologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience for all guests. This role requires attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage bar operations efficiently.\n Duties/Responsibilities\nPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standardized recipes and customer specifications. \nEngage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answering questions and making recommendations as needed. \nMaintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including counters, utensils, glassware, and equipment. \nOversee liquor inventory and bar supplies, conducting regular checks to ensure adequate stock and safely storing items. \nRecord all sales accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle cash or card transactions responsibly. \nUpsell drinks and menu items to customers. \nComply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol service and consumption. \nUse proper judgment and when necessary, refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive. \nAssist with opening and closing procedures, including restocking, cleaning, and securing the bar area. \nEnsure that fruit and other garnishes are prepared before the opening of the bar. \nKnow the Theodores’ Dining Room menu with the ability to describe items and make recommendations when applicable. \nParticipate in workplace safety meetings. \nPromote sales of events and services by providing all guests with enthusiastic and accurate information for these offerings. \nInteract and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with TRMF values. \nPerform other related duties as assigned. \nSupervisory Responsibilities -None\nRequirements\nRequired Skills/Abilities\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. \nAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. \nBasic math skills for handling cash and operating the POS system. \nReliable, on time, and ready for every shift. \nThe ability to remain calm when dealing with demanding situations is important. \nAttention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. \nRequired Education and Experience\nMinimum age requirement: 21 years old. \nPrior experience as a bartender or mixologist. \nFamiliarity with common drink recipes, mixology techniques, and bar equipment. \nMust be able to troubleshoot and create solutions if needed. \nMust be fluent in English, bilingual a plus. \nWorking Conditions\nMust be able to stand for extended periods and lift to 25 lbs. \nFlexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. \nOccasional exposure to load environments and crowded spaces. \nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is: \nContinuously required to stand, grasp, talk, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs. \nFrequently required to have repetitive use of hands and arms, grasp, \nOccasionally bend over, reach overhead, and push or pull. \nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned and able to determine safety of workplace surroundings. \n Our Location\nTRMF is in Medora, North Dakota, in the heart of the Badlands and near the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. \nLocated near the North Dakota and Montana border along Interstate 94, Medora offers convenient access to 110 square miles of rugged natural beauty, outdoor recreation, and regional attractions. Employees have opportunities to experience the surrounding Badlands through activities such as stargazing, biking along the Maah Daah Hey Trail, and exploring the Medora area. \nThe Life Skills Center serves as TRMF’s central hub of operations and provides a state-of-the-art campus designed to support employee work, learning, wellness, and community.
