You will hold full accountability for your portfolio, valued between £20-40 million annually, and will be responsible for the safe design and delivery of asset engineering programmes. This involves planning and leading multiple workstreams, managing third-party suppliers and stakeholders, and overseeing project managers and their teams.You will ensure your programmes are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining compliance with internal governance and utilising data-driven insights for informed decision-making. This means we're growing and investing in talented people who can help us meet future demands and deliver excellent service to our customers and the wider community.\nIf you have a passion for engineering and project delivery and are looking to make a meaningful impact within a sector that is generating significant change, then this is an excellent opportunity.\nMain responsibilities:\nPlan & lead the safe design and delivery of a programme of works to time and budget whilst compliant with all Company H&S, Environmental and company policies.\nAccountable for the performance of the third party suppliers and stakeholders working in partnership to deliver the programme of works.\nResponsible for the management of the Project Managers and teams supporting the delivery.\nUses evidential data to make objective decisions taking into account stakeholders including the end customer.\nYou'll need:\nSkills / Qualifications / Experience\nA degree qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a similar relevant subject.\nNEC3/4 project manager accreditation.\nDemonstrable experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and programmes from initial concept through to successful delivery.\nExperience working at a senior management level within a client, consultancy, or contractor organisation.\nProven experience of engineering delivery within the water industry or similar utilities sector, such as gas or energy.\nExcellent organisational and resource allocation skills.\nThe ability to undertake recruitment responsibilities to ensure your teams are fully resourced with the necessary skills and knowledge for successful delivery.\nStrong people management skills, a collaborative team approach, and the ability to work effectively with peers and influence individuals not within your direct line management.\nSound commercial and contract knowledge and acumen.\nA proven track record of managing budgets, schedules, and risks effectively.\nThe ability to exercise sound engineering judgement and make well-informed decisions in complex situations.\nExcellent technical report writing and editorial skills, alongside strong oral communication abilities.\nEmployees are required to be flexible and to be prepared to perform duties and other tasks within their capabilities.
