Role Overview
- Position Type: Senior/Master-Level Controls & Industrial Electrical Technician
- Core Mission: Rapidly isolate and repair root-cause electrical, mechanical, and control-loop failures on active production lines during critical downtime windows without resorting to guesswork.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies
- System Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis: Methodically trace live electrical faults from 480V 3-phase distribution down to 5V-24V DC logic loops, differentiating between mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical failures.
- Schematic & Logic Literacy: Read, interpret, and reverse-engineer complex US/EU industrial electrical schematics, ladder logic, and I/O hardware configurations.
- Panel Fabrication & Wiring: Build, modify, clean-wire, and optimize industrial control panels/enclosures adhering to UL508A and NEC standards.
- Instrumentation & Drives: Calibrate field devices (sensors, photo-eyes, safety curtains) and parameterize/troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and servo systems.
- Diagnostic Tools: Expert use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters (insulation testers), and loop calibrators.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years hands-on industrial electrical/controls diagnostics in high-volume manufacturing.
- Education: Associate degree in Industrial Electronics/Automation/Electrical Systems or a completed certified apprenticeship (equivalent military/veteran experience evaluated).
- Physical Requirements: Able to navigate production floors, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
