You’ll help develop solutions that enable seamless access and help keep people safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive.\nThe Engineering Manager, Electronics for the Commercial Openings Division (COD) leads new product development execution for electronic products across the division. This role leads Systems Engineering, Firmware Engineering, and Hardware Engineering resources and drives development across Exits, Door Controls, Accessories, Hollow Metal, and Door & Window Systems.\nWhat You Will Do\nServe as the electronics engineering interface for COD (Commercial Openings Division) businesses, coordinating communications, work, and deliverables with other parts of the Engineering organization.\nUnderstand COD business objectives and strategy and its implications for electronics development efforts .\nWork with Product Management to understand and execute the electronics product and technology roadmap for COD.\nManage electronics new product development (NPD) engineering execution across COD businesses.\nBe accountable for design quality, schedule predictability, and product cost for electronics NPD.\nAssess technical and other development risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate risks to COD engineering and business leadership as needed.\nSet team-member objectives aligned with business priorities and execution strategy; provide coaching and feedback to support performance and development.\nForecast resource utilization and project loading for electronics development, identify capacity constraints, and work with leadership to address them.\nActively work with the electronics engineering team to develop their capability and competency skills and work with them to help them achieve their individual development objectives.\nWhat You Need to Succeed\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field required; a master’s degree or MBA preferred.\n10 or more years of relevant experience, including significant engineering leadership, portfolio management, and strategic workforce planning.\nDemonstrated success leading new product development and strategic initiatives.\nExperience leading an engineering team and developing talent.\nDemonstrated ability to manage engineering resources and assess team capacity and capabilities.\nStrong communication, collaboration, stakeholder-management, and executive-partnership skills.\nWhy Work for Us?\nAllegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if:\nYou're seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.
