This position will work closely with Production Leads to ensure adequate performance and systemization of preventive maintenance requirements for equipment including metal shears, presses, punches, conventional and CNC machines, forklifts, and welders.\nGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nSupport all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S and existing manufacturing processes.\nProvide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes\nKnow and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.\nEmbrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.\nDo daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.\nFlexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes.\nAbility to meet fast paced and quick changes production needs and deadlines.\nundefined\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nApplies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants.\nAssembles and tests motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.\nDiagnose pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems. \nDiagnose and troubleshoot cause of electrical or electronic malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.\nDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using electrical test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.\nUtilize time management and maximize the use of Production breaks to conduct PMs and repairs.\nConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.\nInspect mechanical/electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with safety codes.\nAdvise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous based on machine safety barriers.\nTest mechanical/electrical systems using various test procedures on electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as pressure gauges, micrometers, calipers, and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.\nPlan layout and installation of new machinery, electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications.\nInstalls and maintains CNC machine tools and related equipment.\nMaintains Machine Tools’ electrical systems including reading and interpreting electrical schematics and repairing electrical equipment ranging from low voltage up to 480V-3 Phase.\nAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.\nGeneral building & facility electrical maintenance.\nAbility to meet fast paced production deadlines.\nPhysical Demands:\n\nFrequently performing high work 20-60’ above ground.\nFrequent sitting, standing, and walking.\nFrequent computer and telephone use.\nFrequent laying, climbing, and balancing in or on large equipment.\nFrequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.\nFrequent lifting or pushing up to 25 lbs. with occasional lifting or pushing up to 75 lbs.\nDexterous with both hands\n\nWork Environment:\n\n· Manufacturing metal fabrication environment.\n· High noise levels.\n· Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and other miscellaneous gases.\n· Exposure to dust and metal debris at the back of shop.\n· Exposure to moving objects such as machinery, mechanical parts, forklifts, carts and trucks.\n· Exposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).\n\nEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n· High School Diploma or GED\n· Associates degree and/or technical certifications preferred.\n· 5+ years of experience in the electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repairing of equipment similar to metal shears, punches and presses, both conventional and CNC machines, as well as fabrication including metal fitting, cutting, and welding.\n· Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic components/systems.\n· Ability to interpret machine schematics and sheet metal drawings.\n· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.\n· Ability to read and understand CAD drawings.\n· Experience working with PLCs and other computer based control systems is preferred.\n· Ability to write detailed repair reports and maintenance procedures as well as good verbal communications.\n· Strong safety, quality, and teamwork orientation with a track record of dependability.\n· Availability to work overtime including weekends.\n· Ability to write Maintenance Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures is preferred.\nCompensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.\nThe expected Base Hourly Range: $35.01 - $42.00 per hour.
