The Maintenance Tech II will work closely with Production Leads to ensure adequate performance and systemization of preventive maintenance requirements for all production equipment and machinery. This position is focused on getting the job done right the first time by placing a high emphasis on quality of workmanship, accountability, safety, and teamwork.\nGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSupport all continuous improvements in safety, quality, 5S and existing manufacturing processes.\nProvide feedback to leadership to help resolve quality issues or operational improvements in regards to productivity and procedural changes\nKnow and abide to all company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.\nEmbrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.\nDo daily housekeeping to ensure the work area is always clean and organized.\nFlexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes.\nAbility to meet fast paced and quick changes production needs and deadlines.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nApply basic electrical knowledge of AC/DC and other related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants.\nDiagnose pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems. \nDiagnose and troubleshoot cause of electrical or electronic malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.\nDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using electrical test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.\nUtilize time management and maximize the use of Production breaks to conduct PM’s and repairs.\nInspect mechanical/electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with safety codes.\nCommunicate to Leadership whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous based on machine safety barriers.\nInstall and maintain CNC machine tools and related equipment.\nAdjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.\nPerform general building & facility electrical maintenance.\nAbility to meet fast-paced production deadlines.\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\nBasic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic components/systems.\nAbility to interpret machine schematics and sheet metal drawings.\nAbility to write detailed repair reports and maintenance procedures as well as good verbal communications.\nMeasuring and basic math.\nPhysical Demands:\nFrequently performing high work 20-60’ above ground.\nFrequent sitting, standing, and walking.\nFrequent laying, climbing, and balancing in or on large equipment.\nFrequent stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.\nFrequent lifting or pushing up to 25 lbs. with occasional lifting or pushing up to 75 lbs.\nDexterous with both hands.\nOccasional computer and telephone use.\nWork Environment:\nManufacturing metal fabrication environment.\nHigh noise levels.\nContact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and other miscellaneous gases.\nExposure to dust and metal debris at the back of shop.\nExposure to moving objects such as machinery, mechanical parts, forklifts, carts and trucks.\nExposure to hot or cold temperature when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).\nEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nAssociates degree and/or technical certifications preferred.\n3+ years of experience in the electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repairing of equipment similar to: metal shears, punches, presses, both conventional and CNC machines.\n3+ years of experience in fabrication including metal fitting, cutting, and welding.\nCompensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.\nThe expected Base Hourly Range: $28.01 - $35.00 per hour.
