You will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept development to production and continuous improvement, helping shape the future of mechanical and electronic security solutions.\nWhat You'll Do\nAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the development of innovative locking solutions, combining mechanical design expertise with a strong focus on security, performance, and manufacturability.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop mechanical and electromechanical locking systems, from concept through production and lifecycle support.\nCreate 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Creo.\nEnsure products meet performance, durability, reliability, and security requirements.\nApply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.\nDefine tolerances, interfaces, and assembly methods for complex mechanical systems.\nSupport product validation, certification, risk assessment, and compliance activities.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to drive product improvements and solve technical challenges.\nEvaluate and integrate emerging technologies, materials, and smart locking solutions.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product performance, user experience, and operational efficiency.\nWhat Makes You Successful\nYou are a curious and innovative engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.\nYou enjoy taking ownership of complex projects, balancing customer needs with engineering excellence, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve products and processes.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n3 to 10 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical locking systems or comparable mechanical products.\nProven experience managing projects throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept to production and field support.\nStrong proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).\nSolid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques.\nStrong knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing preparation.\nFluent English and the ability to work effectively within international teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\nExperience with electronic or smart locking technologies.\nFamiliarity with security testing, validation, and certification processes.\nExperience working within highly regulated product environments.\nKnowledge of sustainability initiatives and environmental compliance requirements.\nKey Competencies\nTechnical Competencies\nMechanical product design and development.\nLocking system design and security mechanisms.\nCAD modeling and technical documentation.\nDFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and GD&T.\nProduct validation and failure analysis.\nManufacturing processes and supplier collaboration.\nProduct lifecycle management and continuous improvement methodologies.\nProfessional Competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nInnovative mindset and technical curiosity.\nExcellent collaboration and communication skills.\nAbility to influence and work effectively across functions and cultures.\nStrong project management and prioritization capabilities.\nResults-oriented with a high level of ownership and accountability.\nPassion for quality, reliability, security, and customer satisfaction.\nWhy Join Allegion?\nAt Allegion, you'll have the opportunity to work on products that make a real difference in people's daily lives.
