WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Perform inspections and tests on incoming or in-process materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, such as hard gages, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, hardness testers, and CMM’s to conduct efficient and accurate part measurement.
  • Assist in the validation and verification of new product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Support the operations team with gap analysis and root cause identification and application of basic problem solving with appropriate quality assurance tools.
  • Perform detailed process audits and drive targeted improvement actions through coaching of others or direct ownership of the resolution.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and production teams to ensure compliance to quality standards.
  • Assist or lead supplier management activities such as corrective actions and product validation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data and other records for work performed.
  • Where skill gaps exist, learn through training or OJT, processes such as calibration, CMM programming, and quality system auditing.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Prior experience in a similar quality, manufacturing, or engineering technician role is required.
  • Proficiency using a wide range of measurement tools.
  • Ability to interpret part drawings, material, and engineering specifications.
  • A strong knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO16949, ISO31000)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Six-Sigma, Lean, TPS exposure preferred.
  • Attention to detail and deep commitment to continual improvement.
  • Effective verbal, written and digital communicator.
  • Highly collaborative, with firm team-building approach.
  • Experience with process capability tools and/or statistical analysis (preferred).
  • Ability to write part inspection programs using PC-DMIS/Hexagon software (highly desired).
