You will work across discovery, solution design, hands-on development, deployment, and adoption while leading and developing a small pod of engineers. This role is ideal for a pragmatic technical leader who can translate ambiguous needs into production-ready applications, integrations, APIs, and data solutions; measure business impact; and create reusable engineering patterns for the broader Order Management and enterprise application landscape.\nQualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Communicate technical tradeoffs, progress, risks, and business impact clearly to both technical and executive stakeholders\nServe as a player-coach: remain hands-on in design and delivery while leading a small pod of engineers, setting technical direction, reviewing designs and code, and raising the quality of engineering and AI practices across the team\nUse AI-assisted engineering tools (coding assistants, agentic development workflows) in daily delivery and coach the team to do the same responsibly\nWhat You Need to Succeed:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n12 + years of significant experience designing, building, and operating production-grade full-stack software, enterprise applications, integrations, or data-intensive solutions\nStrong hands-on development skills in at least one modern programming language such as Python, C#, Java, or TypeScript, with experience using Git-based development practices\nExperience designing and integrating REST APIs, event-driven services, databases, and cloud-based application components\nDemonstrated ability to work directly with business users, clarify ambiguous needs, and translate workflows into effective technical solutions\nExperience leading technical delivery across the full software lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support\nWorking knowledge of how to evaluate and govern AI systems, including evaluation frameworks, guardrails, human-in-the-loop design, data privacy, and responsible-AI practices\nStrong troubleshooting and systems-thinking skills, with the judgment to balance rapid delivery with security, reliability, and maintainability\nEffective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical and AI decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to nontechnical and executive stakeholders\nPlayer-coach leadership style, with experience mentoring and technically leading a small team while remaining hands-on, and influencing teams without relying on formal authority\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, operate with autonomy, and travel occasionally to work alongside users and delivery teams when needed up to 15%\nPreferred (Nice to have):\nExperience with the Microsoft stack, including Azure (Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Functions, Logic Apps), Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Fabric\nExperience with modern front-end frameworks, containerization, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability tools.\nDemonstrated experience delivering generative AI or LLM-based solutions into production, such as retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, or intelligent automation, including orchestration, prompt design, and integration with enterprise systems\nExperience with agent frameworks and orchestration, LLM observability and evaluation tooling, and building AI accelerators reused across multiple teams\nKnowledge of Order Management, quoting, configuration, pricing, fulfillment, EDI, ERP, CRM, or other complex enterprise workflows\nExperience in consulting, solutions engineering, customer engineering, technical product delivery, or another embedded engineering role\nExperience establishing reusable platforms, accelerators, or engineering patterns across multiple teams or business capabilities\nWhy Work for Us?\nAllegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if:\nYou're seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.
