S/he identifies and requests necessary personnel and financial resources, determining tasks that must be completed, assigning the tasks, delegating authority, and motivating team members to work together for the success of project. The program manager is responsible for tracking progress on tasks while comparing it to what was planned. S/he also should have a foundational understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.\nResponsibilities\nEssential Functions:\nDefines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.\nLeads the development and management of the project work plan, including work sequencing, work breakdown structure, work delivery schedule, and resource allocation.\nDelegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.\nIdentifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.\nAdheres to Allegis Group system development lifecycle (SDLC) and Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC).\nAdheres to methods, procedures and quality objectives including metrics for assessing progress and provides recommendations on process improvements.\nIdentifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.\nProactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential risks, and devises contingency plans to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost and quality objectives.\nInform stakeholders of project schedule, risks, and issues or changes to the plans, proactively.\nProvides visibility and status of work units to the customer on a timely basis.\nBuilds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project.\nContributes to process and methodological improvement based on performance analysis, lessons learned, project archives, etc.\nAggregates team objectives into Program PI Objectives and publishes for visibility and transparency\nAssists with economic decision-making by Epic estimation by teams and rollup to program level visibility, managing WSJF processes, and with program execution\nConstantly inspect the process, discover and address the major concerns\nDrives program-level continuous improvement via retrospectives\nEncourages team and program level Quality Practices and Communities of Practice around Agile, Scrum, and Agile program management\nEscalates impediments\nHelps manage risk and dependencies\nMaintains proper communication with all the technical and non-technical teams involved\nParticipates in enterprise program management improvement and standardization activities\nProvides input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks\nReports status to Release Management\nResponsible for program planning, demo, inspection and adaptation, synchronization, release planning and improvement planning\nWork with execution and tracking teams to record risks, reports, and metrics\nSupervisory or Management Responsibility:\nCoaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises project team members and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.\nProvides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance.\nCoordinates project administrators or coordinators assigned to deliver related subprojects.\nProvides the resource manager with assessments of the project team members for training plans, bonus reviews, and performance appraisals.\nManages vendors, assigns activities, and coordinates efforts during the development and support of IT solutions.\nEnsures vendor staff responsibilities are clear. Provides direction, prioritization, and guidance on project activities to meet project targets.\nGuides and mentors other project managers regarding structured methodologies and best practices, as well as their usage to resolve issues encountered in real projects.\nBudget Responsibility:\nDevelops detailed project budget and gains approval.\nTracks and reports project expenses against forecasted budget.\nPartners with stakeholders to adjust budget based on agreed upon action plan\nQualifications\nMinimum Education and/or Experience:\nB.S. in Computer Science, Business, or related major or equivalent business experience.\n7+ years of IT / business experience.\n7+ years of IT project management.\nProven track record of managing projects and/or programs.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum.\nExperience with projects in multiple technologies and functions.\nExperience with SAFe Agile methodology a plus.\nSkills/Abilities:\nAdvanced knowledge of PMBOK and effective application of project/program management methodologies.\nKnowledge of PMLC, SDLC, ITIL processes.\nKnowledge of organizational change management principles.\nKnowledge of customer service fundamentals.\nAbility to think critically and solve problems.\nExceptional interpersonal skills; the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines.\nAbility to develop consensus amongst diverse groups.\nStrong presentation and written communication skills.\nKnowledge of project budgeting and accounting.\nCore Competencies:\nBuild relationships\nDevelop people\nLead change\nInspire Others\nThink critically\nCommunicate clearly\nCreate accountability\nBenefits Overview:\nBenefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
