The products at Alliance are used globally in laundromats, hotels, hospitals, universities, apartment complexes, fire stations and more. This position is based in Ripon, WI.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop firmware using C programming for the front-end control boards of washing machines, washer extractors, tumblers, and dryers.\nDesign and implement embedded firmware solutions to ensure reliable and efficient product functionality.\nCreate detailed test specifications for embedded control systems.\nCollaborate with engineering labs to validate firmware on prototypes and production systems.\nConduct root cause analysis and resolve issues in firmware to ensure reliable product performance.\nWork with embedded system peripherals such as UART, I2C, ADC, PWM, EEPROM, and other components.\nDebug and optimize firmware to ensure efficient communication between components and peripherals.\nWrite engineering change notifications (ECNs) to manage updates and improvements in firmware.\nUse change management tools like Git for version control and issue-tracking tools like YouTrack for efficient issue resolution.\nParticipate in product development meetings, feature definition sessions, and pilot builds.\nSupport manufacturing and production teams by resolving firmware-related issues during production.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields required.\nAt least 3 years of experience in firmware development for embedded systems.\nPrior project management experience highly desirable.\nSkills and Abilities\nExtensive knowledge and hands-on experience in C programming; knowledge of Lua and UI design tools (e.g., Storyboard) is a plus.\nProficiency in embedded system peripherals: UART, I2C, Interrupt timers, EEPROM, ADC, and PWM.\nExperience with Git for version control and YouTrack or similar issue-tracking tools.\nStrong debugging skills and familiarity with test-driven development.\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.\nDemonstrated ability to produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation to support firmware development and maintenance processes.\nEffective communication skills for collaboration across teams.\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.\nAlliance Team Members Demonstrate DRIVE:\nDedicated: Follows through on commitments.
