That's why we prioritize safety, offer volunteer opportunities and provide competitive pay, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, tuition reimbursement and paid time off.\nThis role may be filled at the Apprentice or Journey level dependent upon qualifications.\nTraining Locations:\nPrairie Creek Gen StationResidency Requirements:\nNot subject to residency requirements.Job Summary\nResponsible for the safe and efficient operation of all steam turbine generating units, steam generating units, auxiliary equipment, etc., in the plant for a given shift.\n What you will do\nDemonstrate leadership in the area of safety. \nObserve safety rules, policies, and practices. \nEncourage safe work behaviors and promptly correct conditions and unsafe behavior which may lead to accidents. \nEnsure strict adherence to corporate values in complying with all environmental, safety and other laws and regulations. \nEnsure that all aspects of plant operations remain in compliance with environmental rules and regulations. \nOperate control equipment to obtain safe and proper operation of boilers, turbines and auxiliary equipment. \nStart, operate, inspect and shut down all steam turbine generating units, steam generating units and all associated auxiliary equipment. \nObserve and record pressures, temperatures and flows on all operating equipment; check to see that all meters and gauges indicate normal conditions for loading on units. \nOperate switchboard and associated equipment to obtain safe and proper operation of plant and system electrical equipment. \nPrepare logs and reports as required. \nInform the Operating Crew Foreman (where applicable) or supervisor of any abnormal or unusual conditions that may occur. \nPerforms troubleshooting activities related to plant operating systems. \nAssist in cleaning and housekeeping of all plant equipment and operating areas. \nAssist in training of employees. \nAssist in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures to take equipment out of service and to restore equipment to active status. \nPerform PM and may assist with maintenance work. \nPerform all work according to established procedures and safety practices. \nMust report to work fit for duty and free from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse. \nThe above duties are not an inclusive list of duties to be performed for this position.
