With exposure to multiple aspects of the business and clear opportunities for development, it's an ideal role for someone seeking long-term career growth.\nJob Summary\nThis position operates bulk material handling equipment to facilitate the movement of product between buildings, truckloads, and railcar, working inside and outside with exposure to temperature extremes, weather, dirt, and dust potentially working long periods on your feet. Workplace hazards exist that require safety precautions.\n What you will do\nOperates bulk material handling equipment, such as conveyors, boom lifts, wheel loader and sky track . \nSecures trailers to all docks and provides trailer information to the office. \nOperates electric forklift and associated warehouse equipment to safely and accurately move product within the warehouse. Additional equipment may include stretch wrappers, scrubber and hand tools. \nProper usage and compliance with warehouse management system (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP). Follows internal protocol for inventory accuracy and customer compliance. \nLoads and unloads trailers and rail cars in a safe manner as to not damage product or physical assets of Travero or customer. \nSpots and loads or unloads railcars, and trucks/trailers. \nOperates train unloading equipment, switches railcars, walks railcars prior to movement and aligns track switches. \nApplies railcar hand brakes, connects railcar air hoses, changes railcar air hoses, provides point protection for shoving movements. Checks and cleans tracks of obstructions that could cause derailment. \nInspects safety appliances prior to mounting/moving all equipment. Uses proper radio communications, keeps material handling equipment neat, clean and operating properly. \nPerforms all work according to established procedures and safety practices. \nEducation Requirements\nHigh School Diploma Required \n Preferred Experience\n5 years’ experience operating a forklift inside a warehouse facility and outside yard. \nPrevious experience operating heavy equipment such as wheel loader, conveyors, boom lifts, etc. \nPrevious experience working in a food grade environment (warehouse/manufacturing). \nPrevious experience of working with a warehouse management system (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP). \nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment. \nAbility to work independently with minimal direct supervision. \nAbility to work inside and outside with exposure to temperature extremes. \nAbility to use a calculator and basic math competency. \nFlexibility to other work assignments including sanitation, value-added, assembly and rework projects. \nAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. safely. \nOur people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve.
