In support of this, the role also carries responsibility for the underlying network infrastructure (LAN/WIFI/WAN/SD-WAN) that these telephony services run on, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable connectivity and communication services across the organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nTelephony & Unified Communications (Primary Focus)\nDesign, implement, and administer enterprise telephony systems (VoIP, SIP trunks, PABX, Cisco/Avaya or similar UC platforms) across the organization.\nManage voice recording, call routing, dial plans, SIP trunk/DID management, and contact center/voice bot integrations.\nLead telephony onboarding/offboarding, number porting, and migration/modernization of legacy PABX systems to cloud-based or unified communications platforms.\nCoordinate with telephony vendors and carriers for infrastructure upgrades, licensing, SLAs, and support contracts.\nAct as the escalation point for complex telephony/voice incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to business communications.\nNetwork Engineering (Supporting Function)\nMaintain and troubleshoot the underlying LAN/WIFI/WAN/SD-WAN network infrastructure.\nSupport network security controls (firewalls, NAC, segmentation) to safeguard voice/data traffic.\nAssist with network capacity planning, upgrades, and disaster recovery (DR) setups as they relate to network and voice/telephony continuity.\nMaintain comprehensive documentation of network and telephony configurations, processes, and procedures.\nOthers\nMentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers and support staff.\nVendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and service providers to evaluate new technologies and manage procurement processes.\nDocumentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.\nGlobal Collaboration: Work with global teams to manage and deliver globally managed services. Coordinate with global teams to ensure alignment and consistency in service delivery.\nAny other duties when deemed necessary. Completing projects on various issues when needed.\nKey requirements / Skills / Experiences\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.\n5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise telephony/unified communications engineering (VoIP, SIP, PABX), with supporting experience in network engineering or a related role.\nExtensive knowledge of enterprise telephony systems, with supporting knowledge of network infrastructure.\nProficiency in network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and VLANs.\nExperience with network security practices and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network and enterprise telephony systemsissues.\nExcellent communication and leadership skills.\nIndustry credentials such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP Collaboration or equivalent cloud communications certifications are strongly preferred\nStrong project management skills and experience with project management tools.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.\nUp-to-date knowledge of emerging network technologies and trends.\nThis role may require on-call availability and working outside regular hours to resolve critical issues or perform scheduled maintenance.\nThe position may involve occasional travel to various sites for installation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with teams.\n Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
