This position requires expert-level knowledge of NFIP and private flood insurance regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead process improvements and support audit readiness.Job Duties and Responsibilities:\nComplex Flood Insurance Oversight - 30%\nReview and resolve escalated or high-risk flood insurance cases.\nInterpret advanced policy documentation including endorsements and elevation certificates.\nEnsure compliance with NFIP, private insurance, and lender-specific standards.\nServe as a initial reviewer for coverage adequacy and documentation accuracy.\nTeam Leadership & Mentoring - 20%\nProvide guidance and support to Flood Specialists I and II.\nLead training sessions and assist in onboarding new team members.\nOffer performance feedback and support skill development.\nAct as a resource for technical and procedural questions.\nLender Relationship Management - 15%\nMaintain strong working relationships with insurance agents and lender partners.\nHandle complex outbound and inbound communications regarding policy issues.\nResolve disputes and ensure timely documentation delivery.\nRepresent the flood operations team in cross-functional meetings.\nCompliance Strategy & Audit Support - 15%\nLead preparation for internal and external audits.\nMonitor regulatory changes and update procedures accordingly.\nCollaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure readiness and accuracy.\nDevelop and maintain documentation for regulatory reporting.\nProcess Improvement & Other Duties Assigned - 20%\nIdentify inefficiencies and recommend workflow enhancements.\nContribute to SOP development and system optimization.\nParticipate in cross-functional initiatives to improve flood operations.\nSupport departmental goals and strategic initiatives.\nAssist with overflow work and special projects.\nProvide input on technology and system enhancements.\nQualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nBachelor’s degree preferred.\n5+ years of experience in flood insurance operations, loan servicing, or insurance compliance.\n5-7 years of leadership experience.\nProven expertise in NFIP and private flood insurance policy review and regulatory interpretation.\nExperience mentoring or leading teams in a flood operations environment.\nStrong understanding of audit processes, force-placement procedures, and compliance strategy.\nExcellent communication skills with experience managing agent and lender relationships.\nPreferred: Certification such as Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) or equivalent.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
