This role provides advanced configuration expertise, establishes configuration standards, mentors Configuration Analysts, and ensures client implementations are designed using scalable, supportable, and industry best practices.Working closely with Client Data Integration, Service Delivery, Product Support, Engineering, and Product Management, the Senior System Configuration Engineer provides consultative guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle, identifying configuration risks early and recommending solutions that improve client outcomes while reducing operational support issues.\nThis role focuses on configuration quality, technical leadership, governance, and continuous improvement to ensure system configurations align with business requirements and long-term operational success.\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nConfiguration Architecture & Solution Design- 35%\nServe as the technical lead for complex client configuration design and business rule implementation.\nReview proposed system configurations to ensure they align with platform capabilities, business requirements, and industry best practices.\nIdentify configuration risks, unintended downstream impacts, and operational considerations before implementation.\nRecommend alternative configuration approaches that improve scalability maintainability, and client outcomes.\nPartner with implementation teams to design solutions for complex business scenarios.\nProvide technical consultation throughout the implementation lifecycle.\nTechnical Leadership & Configuration Governance- 35%\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to Configuration Analysts, assisting with complex configuration scenarios and troubleshooting methodologies.\nReview complex configurations and provide recommendations prior to implementation.\nEstablish and maintain configuration standards, best practices, and design principles.\nDevelop governance processes that promote consistency and reduce implementation-related defects.\nServe as the escalation point for advanced configuration questions.\nDevelop and maintain training/reference materials and technical documentation, including configuration playbooks and implementation standards for Configuration Analysts.\nLead knowledge-sharing sessions focused on platform capabilities, business rules, and configuration techniques.\nSupport onboarding and development of new Configuration team members.\nConfiguration Quality & Continuous Improvement- 20%\nAnalyze production issues to identify trends related to configuration design.\nConduct post-implementation reviews to identify opportunities for improving configuration practices.\nPartner with Product Support to reduce recurring configuration-related incidents.\nDevelop recommendations to improve implementation quality and reduce technical debt.\nSupport development of automated validation checks and configuration quality controls where possible.\nTrack and report configuration quality metrics and implementation trends.\nCross-Functional Collaboration- 10%\nPartner with Client Data Integration, Service Delivery Analysts, Engineering, Product Support and Product Management throughout client implementations.\nParticipate in implementation planning sessions for complex clients.\nAssist Engineering by translating configuration challenges into enhancement opportunities.\nProvide technical consultation during client escalations involving complex configuration scenarios.\nSupport root cause analysis efforts for configuration-related production issues.\nQualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):\nBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n5-7 years of work-related experience.\nAdvanced experience designing and implementing business rules, workflows, and system configurations.\nExperience mentoring technical staff or serving as a technical lead preferred.\nStrong analytical and systems-thinking abilities.\nAbility to identify configuration risks before implementation.\nExcellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.\nStrong consultative communication skills.\nAbility to influence technical decisions without direct authority.\nExperience reviewing technical designs and providing constructive feedback.\nStrong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills.\nAbility to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
