Understanding advanced security controls and principles regarding data storage, transmission and encryption is key to this role. The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical employees is required. Ability to present updates and changes to senior IT leaders. Perform security evaluations and assessments to identify risk levels and solutions. Serve as expert security resource for customers. May manage other people managers and individual contributor level employees.\nPrinciple Responsibilities\nSecurity System AdministrationOversee the systems used to secure data and networks.\nProvide leadership regarding what risks justify implementation of new devices.\nOversee testing of security system enhancements, product interfaces and maintenance.\nResearch, advocate and implement new technologies, architectures and security projects that will support system-wide security requirements.\nLead the architectural design and implementation of system using security principles.\n\nProgram development and documentationUsing current industry trends and experience identify security solutions then develop and lead implementation.\nIdentify organizational risk and mitigating controls that can be achieved through policy or procedural change.\nPrepare presentations of both technical and non-technical scope.\n\nCommunicationOversee communication with customers and system developers.\nInterface with customer and co-workers across IT department to ensure security procedures and policies are followed, using written and verbal forms of communication.\nEngage in prompt and clear communications with users and customers regarding basic security incidents, events and inquiries.\nMay regularly communicate with IT leaders regarding work status and departmental issues.\n\nPeople & Financial ManagementMay oversee other people managers or individual contributors.\nProvide performance reviews and regular feedback.\nHire and retain employees.\nManage to department budget.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nMust be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description\n5+ years experience in information security or related field in developing and implementing tactical security solutions\nPreferred Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information services or related field\nMaster's degree in computer science, information services or related field\n2+ years experience in leading IT employees\n Licenses/Certifications\nCISSP or related security certification (CEH, CCSP, Security+, CISM) required\nPhysical Demands\nSedentary:\nLifting weight up to 10 lbs. occasionally, negligible weight frequently\nPay Range\nPay Range: $63.54 to $87.91 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range.
