This individual will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining ATI quality policies and procedures as it pertains to measurement systems. Activities include procurement of hardware, developing and procuring maintenance contracts and agreements, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, establishing calibration cycles, assuring calibration records are accurate and timely, work harmoniously with a union labor work force, and create a safe work environment. This individual will exercise a high level of independent judgment using a considerable amount of creativity, initiative and determination. This person will also supervise hourly quality personnel as needed.\nResponsibilities:\nOversee maintenance of production gages and process measurement systems.\nDevelop calibration schedules for production gages and process measurement systems.\nEnsure calibration activities are performed per schedules.\nEnsure calibration records are complete and accurate.\nMaintain quality and calibration procedures as it pertains to production gages and process measurement systems.\nTrack and Lead First Time Quality improvements\nTrack and manage layered process audit system\nTrack and Lead Non-Conforming Material improvements\nRegular contact with cross-functional organizations and hourly union skilled tradesmen.\nParticipate in ISO audits. \nCommunicate and coordinate maintenance and calibration activities with outside vendors.\nImplements and actively supports the plant and corporate safety policies and initiatives.\nImplement good housekeeping standards.\nPrepare technical reports as required\nSupervise hourly personnel responsible for various inspection activities\nAdminister the UAW-ATI Contract, including training, timekeeping, work assignment, work evaluation for hourly employees.\nExperience:\nRequired Education: Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience in a powertrain manufacturing facility.\nRequired:\n Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing field.\nHigh level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult required.\n Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and dimensional layout knowledge required.\nHigh level of interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with business partners and diverse work groups to meet mutual goals required.\nStrong oral and written communication skills required.\nKnowledge of ISO 9000: TS IATF 16949 requirements.\nQuality System audit experience required.\nCoordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Gear Analyzer familiarity.\n Preferred:\nFamiliarity with SPC, PFMEA, Process Control Plans, 8D Corrective Action Strategy and Layered Process Audits.\nAbility to effectively use computer software as it pertains to engineering.\nKnowledge of ATI Quality and Reliability policies and procedures.\nKnowledge of automatic transmission.\nAllison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
