These projects are designed/created for overall improvements to cost of machining. In addition, knowledge of inventory management. This role requires some knowledge a multitude of machining processes including turning, milling, grinding, broaching, hobbing, and honing.\nResponsibilities:\nLead and manage new and current projects.\nInterface with internal and external IS&S to support Tool Management programs and processes.\n· Support tooling issues in manufacturing plants as they relate to inventory, cost, procurement, forecasting and consumption.\n· Analyze process elements for improved tooling capability and reduce cost.\n· Be well-versed in the financial side of tooling. Be able to manage tool cost to a budget and document variances.\n· Able to work effectively with others outside the work group, including commodity managers.\n· Provide a physical presence on the production floor and support services areas.\n· Computer literacy (MS Office, Power BI and very proficient in Excel) and able to learn and master Maximo, SAP programs.\n· Ability to learn new software and interface quickly.\nEducation Requirement:\nBachelor Degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience\nExperience:\nMinimum 1-3 years’ experience required.\nHigh level of analytical ability where problems are complex.\nDirect manufacturing experience with an emphasis on metal cutting.\nKnowledge of tooling and manufacturing process and equipment.\nProficiency with computer software programs (MS Office, very proficient in Excel and Power BI) and adaptability for other systems.\nGood written and oral communication skills.\nThe ability to work effectively in a group setting.\nThe ability to work independently from inception to conclusion, and a willingness to seek counsel on difficult and complex issues.\nThe ability to multitask effectively.\nThe ability to take on new tasks and roles.\nAllison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
