Founded in 2020, Alloy is a 45-person hardtech startup that has raised over $50M in capital and is shipping components to customers manufacturing servers, lasers, semiconductor equipment, and defense systems.\nAbout the role\nReporting to the Director of Parts Production, the CNC Machinist will be responsible for the programming and operation of Alloy’s CNC machines in-house CNC shop. This person will provide feedback to the applications engineering team regarding part feasibility, and machinability while finding creative and scalable solutions to support Alloy’s Stack Forging process. This is a critical role in Alloy’s production operation, influencing the manufacturing process of nearly every part delivered.\nThis role requires 5 days onsite per week.\nResponsibilities\n*Responsibilities are subject to change based on shifting business needs.\nEngage with Sales and Applications Engineering in pre-sales discussions, offering feedback to facilitate the manufacturing of customer parts.\n\nProgram and cut parts, purchase materials and tooling. Alloy currently programs with CAMWorks\n\nIdentify and implement novel fixturing solutions for parts that will be difficult to indicate repeatably\n\nCooperatively work with the Engineering and Quality Teams to correctly dimension drawings and create datums that will match manufacturing workflows\n\nGenerate accurate forecasting and scheduling of production work\n\nStay digitally organized, updating work statuses, best practices for file storage and traceability\n\nBe an active member of the Safety Committee, owning safety and training within the machine shop.\n\nWhat you’ll bring\n7+ years of CNC Programming and Machining experience including tooling selection and setup\n\nExperience in setup and machining of aluminum castings or other parts where each piece of starting material is slightly different\n\nExperience in setup and machining of parts that have been 3D printed\n\nAbility to use precision measuring instruments to verify product quality\n\nExperience with troubleshooting and problem-solving in a machining environment\n\nExperience with the development and execution of programming, processing, operational/set-up sheets, and work instructions as related to the manufacturing of orders utilizing our ISO procedures\n\nExperience developing manufacturing plans for high-volume production\n\n*Pay Range: $75,000-110,000 dependent on experience, qualifications, and education level\nAdditional requirements\nThis position will require access to information subject to control under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”).
