Personally, we think that’s pretty game-changing stuff.\nThe Role\nAs a Data Scientist Intern on the Core Telematics team, you'll get hands-on experience analyzing real-world sensor and driving event data collected from millions of trips. You'll work side-by-side with data scientists and engineers on projects - from exploratory analysis through prototyping - and present your findings to the broader team. This is an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to messy, large-scale data and see your work influence how Arity understands and improves the driving experience.\nResponsibilities\nConduct exploratory data analysis and data cleaning techniques on large-scale sensor datasets to identify patterns, trends, labels, and data quality issues \nBuild clear visualizations and summaries that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences \nPrototype and evaluate models for detecting patterns or events in sensor data \nContribute clean, well-documented code and participate in the code review process alongside data scientists and engineers \nDocument methodology, findings, and recommendations in Confluence for the broader team \nRequired Qualifications\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field \nProficiency in Python (e.g. pandas, numpy) for data analysis and manipulation \nFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Matplotlib, Plotly, Folium) \nFoundational understanding of statistics and exploratory data analysis techniques \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort working through ambiguous, real-world data \nCritical thinking and intellectual curiosity, with a drive to dig into open-ended problems and ask good questions \nClear written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical work \n Preferred Qualifications\nTarget Start Date: May/June 2027 \nRising Junior or Senior \nCoursework or project experience with time-series or sensor data \nWorking knowledge of SQL for querying large datasets \nExposure to machine learning concepts/libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow) \nExperience with Git or other version control in a collaborative setting \nFamiliarity with big data tools (e.g. PySpark) or geospatial data is a plus \n\nAt Arity, great things happen when our people work together.\nThat’s why when you join our team, we make sure it isn’t just a job - it’s an opportunity.
