Will participate in identifying, designing and building of application improvements. \nThe Product Engineering will design and build on product roadmap, production defect fixes, general lifecycle management activities and work closely with peers to ensure the performance, availability, and stability of the application suites.\nParticipate in iteration planning meetings ensuring that the team has a common understanding of each story and chores in a team’s backlog\nParticipate in scrum ceremonies and lead the team with full enthusiasm.\nProvide input into the architecture and design of the product; collaborating with the team in solving problems the right way\nConducted analysis and coding for UI and middleware components.\nImplement code refactoring for enhanced reusability and performance.\nParticipate in code reviews, testing(unit, Integration, performance)\nParticipate in retrospectives to gather feedback and derive actionable items to improve the team and the product\nUnderstanding of all elements of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, quality assurance, and release management\nServe as an expert on a specific business domain and demonstrates leadership and accountability on at least one technology stack\nEstablish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices\nBuild, manage the integration of new applications in accordance to Allstate standards and governance\nQualifications:\n2-5 years’ experience in Guidewire BillingCenter Engineering role\nStrong knowledge with SDLC, Agile and/or other recognized software development and project management methodologies\nTechnical Experience with Guidewire BillingCenter systems\nTechnical Experience with system integrations, Guidewire Gosu, Integration Gateway Apps, Guidewire Upgrades and Guidewire Cloud Ski updates to align with evolving business needs\nKnowledge in developing custom plug-ins, batches, messaging, and web services\nKnowledge of Integration Technologies such as Java Spring, REST, React, Kafka\nTechnical understanding of Billing processing and associated data flows\nExperience in Batch monitoring and setting up alerts using Datadog\nExperience with Agile software development processes with a strong emphasis on test driven development\nStrong development techniques, such as debugging, testing (Unit, Integration and Contract), Behavior Driven Development, Test Driven Development, coding, use of productivity tools (GIT, JIRA, Confluence, TeamCity, Bitbucket etc.)\nFamiliarity with revision control systems Git /GitHub \nStrong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience in tools such as JIRA, SONAR etc.\nStrong Analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to learn rapidly\nMust be able to adapt to a dynamic environment, make quick decisions under pressure\nMust be proactive, results-oriented, customer-focused, and attentive to details\nStrong organizational skills, excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills\nAbility to evaluate design trade-offs and document choices effectively\nBonus Qualifications:\nCertified Guidewire Specialist (Configuration or Integration Developer) is an asset.\nKnowledge on using AI tools and co-pilot\nTest driven development experience\nPair programming experience\nAllstate Canada Group has policies and practices that provide workplace accommodations.
