They apply a systematic application of scientific and technological knowledge, methods, and experience to the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of software. They own and manage running their application in production, and ultimately becomes accountable for the success of their digital products through achieving KPIs. Product Engineers at Allstate are considered Software Engineers.In this role, you will support the Enterprise Payments organization, which is responsible for ensuring Allstate customers can seamlessly process a wide range of payment solutions.\nThe internal Allstate job title used for this role is Software Engineer Lead Consultant.\nKey Responsibilities\nParticipate in inceptions and iteration planning meetings, infusing backlogs with technical input working in close partnership with the product manager.\n\nParticipates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups.\n\nParticipates in retrospectives, demonstrating and encouraging each participant to provide feedback with empathy.\n\nCollaborate with team in high-level and low-level component and system designs\n\nCollaborate in performance improvements and tech review meetings\n\nPractices daily paired programming and test-driven development in writing software and building products\n\nEstablishes continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices\n\nSupport software products in user environments\n\nParticipates in knowledge sharing, and contributes to the overall growth of the collective knowledge of the team\n\nQualifications\n5 years or more experience and knowledge in developing REST APIs using Java Spring Boot, including tooling for documentation (Swagger, REST-docs, Open API spec), versioning, service discovery/registration, testing and management; experience using API gateways and REACT is a plus.\n\nHands on experience and accountability architecting, designing, implementing and delivering large scale distributed systems and/or applications for the cloud, including Micro Services architectures.\n\nExperience and knowledge in web and API security including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML.\n\nExperience in backend development design and implementation, database (SQL, caching) and Kafka messaging.\n\nKnowledge and experience using distributed version control systems (Git), artifact management systems, build and packaging systems (Maven, Gradle, NPM, Artifactory, etc.) and Jenkins or similar Continuous Integration tools.\n\nExperience of working in an Agile environment or paired programming/engineering model.\n\nExperience with Python is a plus.\n\nExperience with the Test-Driven approach and writing unit tests for front to back coverage.\n\nExperience with problem-solving and analyzing performance bottlenecks.\n\nExperience\n5 or more years of experience (Preferred)\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis job does not have supervisory duties\n\nSkills\nCollaborative Development, Continuous Delivery, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Integrations, Continuous Integration Tools, Git, Java (Programming Language), Mentorship, Microservices Architecture, Pair Programming, RESTful APIs, Software Architectures, Software Development, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Compensation\nCompensation offered for this role is 100,000.00 - 170,500.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.\nJoining our team isn’t just a job - it’s an opportunity.
