The role focuses on risk framework development, new product and change assessments, and technology-related risk analysis in a digital asset context.\nYou will act as a key contributor to the Institute’s second-line risk function, supporting the evaluation of new blockchain integrations, product developments and outsourcing arrangements under MiCA and DORA. The role combines traditional operational risk management with digital asset specific risk considerations.\nYou will manage defined risk workstreams, particularly in the assessment of new blockchain integrations and product developments.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Core Risk Management & Governance\nConduct inherent and residual risk assessments in line with the Institute’s risk methodology\n\nMaintain and enhance the risk inventory, including control mapping and documentation standards\n\nAssess control design and effectiveness across operational and technology-related processes\n\nMonitor KRIs and risk appetite thresholds, including follow-up and escalation where required\n\nSupport tracking and monitoring of recovery indicators and related governance processes\n\nContribute to material change assessments and structured risk papers for management\n\n2. New Product & Process Risk (NPP)\nPerform end-to-end risk assessments for new blockchain integrations (e.g., L1/L2 chains, bridge solutions)\n\nAssess impact on existing operational processes, governance structures and control frameworks\n\nEvaluate smart contract-related risk exposure at a conceptual level (e.g., mint/burn controls, upgradeability, governance mechanisms)\n\nIdentify operational, ICT, outsourcing and concentration risks arising from new initiatives\n\nSupport the preparation of clear, decision-ready risk assessments for internal approval committees\n\n3. Technology, ICT & Outsourcing Risk (MiCA / DORA)\nSupport alignment of ICT and outsourcing risk management with MiCA and DORA requirements\n\nEvaluate third-party providers (e.g., custody, bridge, oracle and technology providers) from a risk and criticality perspective\n\nAssess resilience, dependency, concentration and exit strategy considerations\n\nContribute to operational resilience testing and scenario development\n\nEnsure technology and outsourcing risks are consistently reflected in the overall risk profile\n\n4. Digital Asset Risk Structuring\nTranslate technical setups into structured, risk-relevant documentation\n\nIdentify key risk drivers such as governance risk, third-party dependency and single points of failure\n\nChallenge control design constructively and propose practical mitigation measures\n\nSupport stress scenario development (e.g., bridge exploit, de-pegging, chain halt)\n\nKey Requirements\nExperience\n4 - 6 years of professional experience in Risk Management, Operational Risk, Internal Audit or Risk Advisory\n\nExperience in a regulated financial services environment (e.g., bank, EMI, fintech or comparable institution)\n\nPractical exposure to risk assessments, control evaluations and governance processes\n\nExperience supporting new product approvals or material change assessments is a strong advantage\n\nTechnical & Regulatory Knowledge\nSolid understanding of risk assessment methodologies (inherent/residual risk, control effectiveness, risk appetite frameworks)\n\nFamiliarity with blockchain fundamentals (e.g., token issuance, smart contracts, L1/L2 chains, bridge concepts)\n\nUnderstanding of operational and technology risk in digital asset environments\n\nKnowledge of MiCA and/or DORA requirements is strongly preferred\n\nAwareness of outsourcing and third-party risk principles in regulated institutions\n\nSkills & Working Style\nStrong analytical and structured thinking\n\nExcellent documentation and drafting skills in German & English\n\nProficiency in German is required\n\nAbility to translate technical and regulatory topics into
