This role will be reporting directly to the IT Operations Manager.\nThings You Get To Do:\nOwn IT support end-to-end-be the reliable go-to for staff, while turning recurring issues into durable fixes and automations\nDiagnose and resolve complex cross-platform problems across macOS, Windows, and Linux\nPartner with HR and Security on scalable onboarding and offboarding (access, devices, and lifecycle)\nAdminister MDM platforms (e.g. Jamf, Intune)-including BYOD-harden posture, and improve enrollment and compliance workflows\nOwn patch management: test, validate, and roll out updates safely across the fleet\nDeploy and secure endpoints and SaaS access in a Zero Trust environment-tighten controls without blocking the business\nBuild and improve automations (scripting, APIs, tools like n8n) for provisioning, access, inventory, and ops workflows\nManage device setup, software deployment, hardware shipping/receiving, and the firm’s IT asset inventory\nSupport change management and procurement; collaborate on cloud/IaC-related IT changes where needed\nTrain staff on IT topics and contribute to continuous improvement of systems, docs, and processes\nParticipate in weekend on-call (round-robin) and after-hours response as needed\nOther related duties as required\n\nWho You Are (Must-Haves):\nExcited about Alpaca’s mission and what we’re building\n6+ years in IT operations / systems engineering-you’ve owned, hardened, and improved systems, not just answered tickets\nProven solutions builder: reverse-engineers complex issues, ships durable fixes, and continuously improves what you own\nStrong across macOS, Windows, and Linux, including device lifecycle\nHands-on with at least two MDM solutions of the following: Jamf, Kandji, Intune, or comparable enterprise MDM\nProven patch management experience-including testing, validation, and controlled rollout-not just pushing updates\nExperience with Google Workspace, 1Password, enterprise SaaS admin, EDR, and SSO / identity workflows\nUnderstands Zero Trust environments with good networking concepts to harden access and endpoints without constraining the business\nBuilds and improves automations (scripting, APIs, workflow tools such as n8n); working fluency in at least two programming/scripting languages\nHands-on with cloud (GCP and/or AWS) and IaC (e.g. Terraform)-comfortable in IaC-first environments\nSelf-starter and fast responder in a fast-paced environment; clear communicator and team player across the IT team and other teams (business partners)\nBased for Eastern Time coverage; available for weekend on-call (round-robin rotation across the team)\nFluent English (written and verbal); strong analytical and collaborative skills\nATeam player with ownership mentality\nWho You Might Be (Nice-to-Haves):\nBachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field\nIT, security, or cloud certifications\nPrior ownership of IT automation platforms, workflow tooling, or internal
