If you align with our core values-Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable-and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.\nYour Role:\nAlpaca is seeking a Senior Cashiering Operations Associate to own client money movement across ACH, domestic and international wires, RTP, checks, and internal journals.\nThis role is accountable for timely, accurate, and compliant cash processing, with a strong mandate to strengthen operational controls, reduce risk, and drive process quality. You will operate with a high degree of independence, exercise judgment on complex and high-risk transactions, and serve as a key partner to custodians and banking partners. The ideal candidate brings deep money-movement expertise, a control-first mindset, and clear ownership of outcomes in a fast-paced fintech environment.\n\nOps Control Framework & Oversight\nOwn and continuously strengthen controls across money movement workflows, ensuring adherence to firm policies, regulatory expectations, and data privacy standards\nReview, validate, and approve client money movement requests (ACH, wires, RTP, checks, journals) in accordance with firm policies\nProcess and release transactions accurately and within established SLAs\nReconcile daily cash movements, deposits, and settlement activity to ensure accurate posting\nMonitor and resolve exceptions, returns, rejects, and transaction discrepancies\nServe as a primary operational point of contact for custodians and banking partners\nPrepare and review daily and monthly operational reports, including transaction coding oversight\nMaintain accurate documentation and case tracking in Salesforce and internal systems\nEnsure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and data privacy standards\nIdentify operational risks and escalate suspicious or high-risk transactions appropriately\nSupport audits, reporting requirements, and special projects as needed\nPartner with Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology to design and implement process improvements\nTrain and coach internal teams; contribute to playbooks, SOPs, and onboarding for cashiering workflows\nWhat You Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field - or equivalent experience\n5+ years of experience in financial services, brokerage operations, banking, or cashiering\nDirect experience processing money movements (ACH, wires, checks, journals, RTP preferred)\nExperience interacting with custodians, clearing firms, or correspondent banks\nStrong command of operational risk and fraud controls\nHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy\nClear, confident written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders and external partners\nAbility to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and elevate issues with context and recommendations\nPreferred Experience\nPortfolio accounting or broker-dealer systems\nExperience in fintech or high-growth environments\nPrior ownership of SOPs, control frameworks, or
