Alpaca Health, the trading name of Harvi Technologies, Inc., is a US startup that helps board certified behavior analysts launch and run their own ABA therapy practices for children with autism, supplying AI-powered software, payer contracting, billing and back-office services. Founded in 2024, it has raised more than $14 million from investors including Core Innovation Capital, Adverb Ventures and South Park Commons, and its engineering teams work in New York City and San Francisco. Its openings are mostly for software engineers, founding product and design roles, medical billing specialists, payer operations and referral partnership staff, and BCBAs who want to open a practice.

About Alpaca Health

Alpaca Health enables clinicians to become entrepreneurs, starting in autism care.

We help clinicians launch and scale their own clinics by providing AI-powered software, payer contracting, and full back-office infrastructure. Our goal is simple: shift power in healthcare away from large consolidated entities and back to clinicians.

We've raised over $14M in funding from early-stage investors like Core Innovation Capital, Adverb Ventures, and South Park Commons, and are building for long-term category leadership. More importantly, we're serving hundreds of patients, while growing 30% MoM.

This role is full-time. We’re looking for candidates based in NYC or open to relocating who are open to 5 days a week in the office.

Role: Founding Product Designer

As our Founding Product Designer, you’ll take full ownership of the 0→1 build of our parent-facing experience - turning a fragmented, complex journey into something simple, clear, and trustworthy for families.

At the same time, you’ll lead a design overhaul of our provider-facing product, transforming a feature-rich but traditional EHR into a fast, intuitive, consumer-grade experience clinicians actually enjoy using.

You’ll work across both surfaces to create a cohesive system that balances clinical depth with usability, setting the design foundation for how care is delivered at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the 0→1 build of our parent-facing portal - from concept to live product

  • Design a seamless, consumer-grade experience for families navigating care (intake, scheduling, communication, payments)

  • Elevate our provider-facing EHR to feel intuitive, fast, and delightful - not clunky healthcare software

  • Conduct user interviews with parents, BCBAs, and staff to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs

  • Rapidly prototype and test user flows; iterate based on real usage and feedback

  • Define product requirements, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship quickly alongside engineering

  • Use AI tools (e.g., prototyping, workflow automation, copilots) to accelerate development and unlock new product capabilities

  • Build systems that scale - not just features - including onboarding flows, engagement loops, and operational tooling

  • Partner cross-functionally with ops, clinical, and growth teams to ensure product drives real outcomes (faster start of care, better retention, higher utilization)

Who You Are

  • You are extremely product-minded and execution-driven - you don’t just define features, you build and ship

  • You have a strong intuition for consumer products and can bring that bar into healthcare

  • You’re comfortable in ambiguity and energized by 0→1 environments

  • You talk to users constantly and turn insights into product decisions

  • You have a bias for action and move fast without sacrificing quality

  • You are fluent with modern AI tools and use them as a force multiplier in your workflow

  • You care deeply about building products that actually improve people’s lives, not just internal tools

  • You operate like an owner and hold a high bar for both yourself and the team

Why Join

  • Direct exposure to company-building at an early stage.

  • Real ownership of critical initiatives from day one.

  • The opportunity to materially impact families and clinicians.

  • A fast learning curve that few roles can match.

  • Strong compensation package
