We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead architecture and engineering (A/E) projects from initial planning through design, permitting, construction administration, and final delivery. The ideal candidate has experience working within an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design firm and can manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage A/E projects throughout design, permitting, construction administration, and closeout.
  • Develop and monitor project scopes, budgets, schedules, work plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Assign responsibilities, establish priorities, and ensure teams meet deadlines.
  • Track project progress, approvals, submissions, outstanding decisions, and action items.
  • Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, coordination issues, schedule risks, and potential cost overruns.
  • Resolve technical, design, permitting, and construction-related challenges with project teams.
  • Coordinate workflows across design development, engineering, permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Organize design reviews, client presentations, milestone submissions, and construction-phase services.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, providing updates and managing expectations.
  • Ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements, applicable codes, client expectations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors during construction administration to address field issues and maintain progress.
  • Maintain project records, including meeting minutes, budgets, schedules, status reports, and documentation.
  • Communicate project status, financial performance, risks, and schedule changes to leadership.
  • Improve project management processes, documentation, and coordination across disciplines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design projects.
  • Previous experience working within an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design firm is required.
  • Proven responsibility for project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, risk management, and client relationships.
  • Experience leading architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of design workflows, permitting, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Ability to manage projects from design development through final delivery.
  • Experience identifying and resolving scope discrepancies, design conflicts, schedule risks, and budget concerns.
  • Strong client communication, relationship management, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Understanding of professional services contracts, project deliverables, and design-firm operations.

Note: Direct project management and project delivery experience is required. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in project coordination, administrative support, or scheduling will not qualify.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Health insurance options.
  • Retirement plan options.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Professional development and continuing education opportunities.
  • Opportunity to lead diverse architecture and engineering projects.
  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary professional environment.
  • Long-term career growth and advancement opportunities.
