This individual will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and drafters, and drive improvements in engineering standards, production efficiency, and finished product quality.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the engineering and technical development of custom millwork projects from initial design through manufacturing and installation.\nPrepare, review, and approve detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, bills of materials, cut lists, and production documentation.\nInterpret architectural plans, design specifications, client requirements, and field measurements to develop accurate engineering packages.\nEngineer custom cabinetry, closets, architectural casework, wall paneling, ceilings, countertops, and specialty woodwork.\nEvaluate designs for manufacturability, material selection, hardware compatibility, joinery methods, and installation requirements.\nCollaborate with project managers, designers, estimators, CNC programmers, production personnel, and installation teams to ensure technical accuracy and project alignment.\nIdentify and resolve design conflicts, dimensional discrepancies, and fabrication challenges before production begins.\nSupport CNC programming, nesting optimization, and manufacturing planning to improve material utilization and production efficiency.\nMaintain accurate engineering records and ensure drawings and documentation comply with established drafting and manufacturing standards.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters while promoting consistent engineering practices.\nSupport quality control throughout engineering, fabrication, and field installation.\nDevelop practical engineering solutions for complex custom millwork applications and challenging design requirements.\nIdentify opportunities to improve engineering workflows, drawing standards, production processes, and overall manufacturing performance.\nCoordinate engineering revisions and communicate technical changes to relevant project stakeholders.\nRequirements\n7+ years of experience in architectural millwork engineering, millwork drafting, or technical design.\nExtensive experience with custom cabinetry, luxury residential millwork, or high-end architectural interiors.\nStrong technical background in engineering custom casework, cabinetry, closets, wall systems, countertops, and specialty millwork.\nAdvanced ability to produce detailed, production-ready shop drawings and fabrication documentation.\nThorough understanding of CNC manufacturing, woodworking machinery, fabrication methods, and production workflows.\nProficiency with millwork design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, AlphaCAM, Rhino, KCD, or similar platforms.\nIn-depth knowledge of millwork materials, hardware systems, joinery techniques, construction methods, and installation practices.\nAbility to interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, technical specifications, and field dimensions accurately.\nExperience working directly with manufacturing and installation teams to troubleshoot technical issues and improve constructability.\nPrevious experience mentoring engineers or drafters, leading technical teams, or overseeing engineering workflows preferred.\nStrong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.\nBenefits\nCompetitive salary of $110,000-$130,000, depending
