He will support, maintain, and improve a suite of business-critical applications used in a regulated financial-services environment. The portfolio includes public-facing Classic ASP and ASP.NET Web Forms applications, as well as a Windows-based .NET document-processing application.\nThe developer will work across application code, SQL Server, IIS and Windows hosting, enterprise integrations, and release processes. The role emphasizes reliable Tier 3 production support and secure, incremental modernization.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProvide Tier 3 support for mission-critical applications. Triage incidents, diagnose root causes across code, databases, integrations, and infrastructure, communicate status, and deliver durable fixes.\nMaintain and enhance legacy Microsoft applications, including Classic ASP/VBScript and ASP.NET Web Forms on .NET Framework using VB.NET and C#.\nSupport Windows-based background processing and document workflows, including file handling, conversion, status tracking, and exception recovery.\nDevelop and maintain SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and data-access code. Investigate performance and data-integrity issues.\nSupport IIS-hosted applications and Windows environments, including application configuration, deployments, and environment-specific troubleshooting.\nBuild and support secure integrations with enterprise APIs and services. Apply least-privilege access, safe credential handling, and appropriate authentication practices.\nClarify requirements with business and technical stakeholders. Communicate technical issues, risks, and trade-offs clearly.\nDevelop prototypes and incremental improvements where appropriate. Document technical decisions, support procedures, configuration, and operational handoffs.\nUse source control and CI/CD processes to build, validate, and promote changes through development, test, and production environments.\nImprove verification practices, including regression, integration, and deployment smoke tests. Follow established change-control and operating procedures.\nRequired Qualifications:\nU.S. citizenship and ability to pass the client-required criminal and financial background investigation.\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\nSix or more years of professional software development or application-support experience in an enterprise Microsoft environment, including hands-on maintenance of legacy applications.\nPractical experience with one or more of the following: Classic ASP/VBScript, ASP.NET Web Forms, VB.NET, or C# on .NET Framework. Able to understand unfamiliar code and make safe, supportable changes.\nStrong SQL Server skills, including writing and troubleshooting queries and stored procedures.\nExperience supporting IIS-hosted applications and Windows servers or virtual machines. Experience using PowerShell for support or automation.\nExperience with Git-based source control and enterprise build and release pipelines, such as GitHub Enterprise/GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or TFS.\nWorking knowledge of authentication and identity concepts, such as Windows or Active Directory authentication, Microsoft Entra ID, AD FS, and SAML.\nStrong incident analysis, problem-solving, prioritization, and time-management skills. Careful attention to detail when implementing changes and following standard operating procedures.\nClear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with business users, technical teams, and client stakeholders.\nKnowledge of the software development life cycle, secure coding practices, common design patterns, and production change-management practices.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, MSAL, or app-only authentication, including secure management of application credentials.\nExperience with REST APIs and enterprise integrations, including API gateways or MuleSoft.\nExperience with SSIS, COM/COM+, scheduled or batch processing, or document and PDF workflows.\nExperience with Azure services or hybrid Azure/on-premises environments, and familiarity with IT governance and operational controls.\nExperience adding automated tests, structured logging, monitoring, alerting, and production-readiness checks to established applications.\nExperience with Java/Spring Boot is helpful when supporting adjacent systems, but is not a core technology for this role.\nSalary and Benefit Information:\nThe likely salary range for this position is $90,000- $130,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
