The Solutions Architect will collaboratively work with Business and Functional leadership/stakeholders and technical teams to align and support the strategic requirements of the department.\nThe Solutions Architect position is responsible for designing, reviewing, and overseeing the implementation of complex systems and solutions focusing on consolidation, modernization, migration, and management of operational systems, data and networks that are spread across various cloud platforms and on premises. The Solutions Architect shall understand and adhere to departmental regulations, policies, standards, and practices at both business and functional levels to achieve consistency, quality, protection, and transparency.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSubject matter expertise in rest APIs, authentication, field mapping, scripting, synchronization, error handling, monitoring and reconciliation.\nAbility to utilize Microsoft Power Platform when needed.\nEnsure reliable connections between identity, on-boarding, asset management, and reporting systems.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business needs, technical requirements, and constraints.\nCoordinate with multiple technical teams to translate business requirements into solutions using on-premises, AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud services.\nDevelop Pilots and Proof of Concepts (POC) focusing on demonstrating specific capabilities, value, or feasibility.\nDevelop architecture diagrams, models, and documentation using government approved technologies, frameworks, and platforms; ensuring the solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective.\nProvide technical oversight and guidance through implementation and support to resolve technical challenges and make critical decisions.\nCollaborate with the creation and management of DHS ICE System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation.\nPresent solutions, roadmaps, and capabilities to business leadership and stakeholders.\nDocument and communicate risks, trade-offs, and benefits.\nEnsure new solutions integrate smoothly with existing systems and provide interfaces for interoperability.\nIncorporate security best practices and compliance requirements into solutions.\nSupport with DHS ICE Security assessments, certifications, audits, and authorizations.\nProduce and present clear documentation for architecture, processes, and decisions.\nStay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements.\nBuild knowledge bases in Confluence, Teams, SharePoint etc. with clear documentation and step-by-step guides to help with onboarding, awareness and collaboration.\nFacilitate level-of-effort (LOE) estimate and staffing requirements and scope of proposed work and support Acquisition Package creation.\nEstablish KPIs for monitoring cost efficiency, resource usage, and utilization (Ability to track business trend and use); correlate how business use cases impact cloud services utilization.\nRequired Qualifications:\nRequired Experience/Skills:\n10 years of experience required in an IT development environment.\n3-5 years of experience writing System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)/Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) documentation.\n5 years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale or project management and oversight experience.\n5 years in a Solutions Architect role, with transformation leadership experience.\nKnowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection practices.\nKnowledge of governance practices.\nKnowledge of enterprise information assets and approaches related to cyber security.\nKnowledge of data related to government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues.\nKnowledge of change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change, and performance measurement system design.\nKnowledge of Risk Management frameworks and experience with Risk Management.\nFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure.\nKnowledge of data migration, data mapping, and data modeling.\nFamiliarity with microservices and composable business systems.\nFamiliarity with Advanced Analytics (AA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLM), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).\nAbility to recognize internally and externally stakeholders and technical dependencies.\nAbility to take on the role of subject matter experts (SME); This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
