Our team owns the financial data agent within GenSearch - connecting AI reasoning to structured financial datasets - as well as the financial data web experiences that power fundamentals, M&A, screening, and other core capabilities.\nWe are hiring a hands-on Principal Engineer to help us:\nReduce latency in AI-powered financial answers\nSimplify fragmented and legacy-heavy architecture\nImprove cross-dataset querying and screening\nShip new datasets and product capabilities without increasing systemic complexity\nThis role sits at the intersection of AI systems, financial data infrastructure, and product-grade web development.\nWho You Are:\n12+ years building and operating production systems\nExperience operating at a Staff or Principal level\nProven ability to simplify complex systems and reduce architectural entropy\nStrong background in distributed systems and performance optimization\nExperience building AI-integrated systems (LLM orchestration, tool usage, retrieval, evaluation)\nComfortable working across backend systems and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)\nExperienced designing APIs and durable service contracts\nEffective at driving cross-team technical initiatives\nWhat You’ll Do:\nImprove AI & Performance\nOptimize orchestration between LLM workflows, structured datasets, and services\nIntroduce performance benchmarks, observability standards, and SLO discipline\nImprove reliability and correctness of AI-backed financial responses\nSimplify Architecture\nReduce fragmentation across datasets and services\nPartner with data platform teams to define scalable dataset integration patterns\nRemove legacy complexity while continuing to ship\nBuild & Evolve Web Products\nContribute directly to backend and frontend systems powering financial data experiences\nDefine durable contracts between AI-generated outputs and frontend consumers\nEnsure performance and usability at both API and product layers\nLead Across Teams\nDrive technical initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams\nAlign stakeholders on service boundaries and system design decisions\nRaise the bar for system design, reliability, and operational rigor\nFor base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables.
